Thanks for the insight Wangers. Good to see there's so many pleasing developments happening off the field. I think we still don't really understand the enormity of the changes required and forget that the board/admin needs time to implement new structures. It's not as simple as a click of the fingers.

Good luck to young Grigg this weekend too. :-D

Great read and a fantastic insight....

Is Walker right to go as well?

Possibly the youngest side we have ever fielded??

Great news to see young Grigg come in...

At least the side will be 'totally' committed for the team and the jumper!

Bring it home boys!

Waggers you forgot to mention..

Ald Gardner stand will be demolished in August making way for a pool, gym etc. 7 architects have designed the said facilities. …And to all you heritage buffs, no the stand is not listed. So the “Old decrepit Standâ€

The pending appointment of a development coach is the big news here, in my opinion - that's very good to hear, and I look forward to hearing just who it might be.

Thanks for the post, Wangers - great stuff, much appreciated.

Thanks heaps wangers.

Without breaching the chatham house rules (i.e. no atribution to speakers comments) can you give us an insight into swan?

How has he found PP?

Is he trying to impose the filth model or something else.

Did he mention anything to look out for over the coming months?

What was your take on him - no nonsense, nice guy, hard arsed administrator?

I agree that the Development Coach appointment is the most important thing mentioned... Some one with a specific mandate to look after the young players, especially given that our senior coach is not one to get involved with, or close to, his squad.

Someone fresh out of the game and with youthful energy would be my preferred option.

Hird would be awesome. But if he wants to stay in football it'll either be as a senior coach (in which case he'd probably go for an assistant gig) or in the boardroom. Can definitely see him on the commish one day.

Plus, I think we'd be appointing this person pretty much immediately. Anyone got any inside info...? Gee, sometimes I miss the old sneaky leaker days.

Hird will be like Buckley, if he does anything it will be at his club.

Pretty much - not the greatest speaker, but had just returned from an early morning x training session so may not have been too focused.

Hird would be fantastic to have in any football-related role at the club. Unfortunately this character he has may be too loyal to leave Essendon*.

I'd like him at any position in the club.

On the development coach how much money would Alan McConnell cost us to leave the AIS Academy?

The start of the redevelopment will be a great thing for the psyche of those working at PP I reckon.
The next CFC generation is about to begin :-D
