Reading the comments about this over the various posts about Fevola here, there seems to be rumours that Fevola has trangressed with the other team mates during or after the Fremantle match and flew home separately from the rest of the team. There are also stories about excessive gambling sessions as well..

Id say that whatever the reason for the rift, it is driven by Fevola's attitude problems - that we all know he has - but of course remain unresolved.

If this is true, then I can fully understand why Sheahan would be making the comments he is and also why Carlton is removing Fev pics from their website etc...

Looks like we might be witnessing the equivalent to a football divorce between Fevola and Carlton - which is why we need to get the best deal that we can for him...

I would invite others to add to this if they have heard more on what I think may well become yet another sorry Carlton saga in these sad and sorry times at our club.

The other part of the rumour was that Fevola had one of the young Carlton players with him at the time.

We have to move on.

Fev gave us something special in our dark years that was never garaunteed, this makes him hard to let go.

That fact is we have a unique chance to really add some quality players to our list.

Fevs trade value is still red hot.

Even if he didn't play for the rest of the year he would be:

The current coleman medalist
Rested and ready to go next year minus the niggly injuries
Jsut about the leading goal kicker despite a form slump that includes being a decoy instead of the main source of attack.

Clubs won't care too much about the rest, they have their own people in place and a change is as good as a holiday as they say.

If he returns, he will dominate.

Red hot...........

Siegfried. Yes we've given Fev a few chances but this year off field he's had a rough time. Maybe that is the reason. Last year we were shit yet he had a great year. Why? Maybe because off field he was in a good place.
Why can this club support a coach for all these years who has been the worst performing coach in our history and we can't keep supporting the Fev. Answer me that one. He deserves a much fairer go than Pagan believe me . Pagan has given us nothing but heartache. At least Fev has given some memorable highs in a time of very few highs. In fact most if not all of those recent highs have revolved around the Fev.
Don't take out our poor recruiting choices and our poor choices of coaches and our poor management all out on the Fev. To me thats just not fair. We need to get behind him when he needs support and this is such a time.

Dom...you're preaching to the converted when you talk about getting rid of Pagan, and questioning our recruiting and player development. The sooner Pagan is gone the better, AFAIC, and a thorough review by Swann and Icke of the recruiting and player development departments is required.

However, the argument with Fev remains, irrespective of all that. Maybe it is all because he has been in a bad place off field. But I would counter that argument with two points...

1. He has behaved like this ever since he was a teenager, hence the reluctance by many clubs to draft him. He has behaved poorly regardless of what has happened off-field.

2. Who is responsible for him being in a bad place off-field? Who was it that chose to have an affair and ruin his relationship? Who was it who chose to get plastered in Ireland and put a bloke in a headlock? He has brought this off-field bad place upon himself. He quite simply seems incapable of taking responsibility for himself, and behaving like a mature adult, let alone a leader.

Its really not such a bad situation if he stays out for the rest of the year.

Carlton isnt going anywhere this season but we might have a chastised and reborn red hot Fev back in 2008 or else a top player and picks.

If we add up all the rumours and what Sheahan is saying about Fevola being for sale - Id say theres more chance of a divorce than of a reconciliation.

Mate if you can't see that Fev's actions on the field aren't disgraceful then im sorry go get your head checked! No doubt the guy is superstar and on song he is one of the best in the AFL however how many chances do we give this guy? My question to you what is more important to you? Fevola or the Carlton F.C.?
