Voss dropped a bombshell on BTG tonight saying he would be playing footy in 2008  .

I didn't get the full story but I assumed he was talking AFL. If this is the case, it would be feasible that we could snap him up as a ready-made on field leader then slot him into the coaches role the following year :? .

Today was another example of how we suck when it comes to experience and strength. He is probably the only 'has-been' I would ever consider bringing in.

GET VOSS!!

Are you sure you heard correctly?

With his injuries there is no way that he could play AFL football again.

Exactly what I thought Jars, but it sounded legit. The panel asked about whether he would coaching Melbourne and he said he couldn't because he would be making a comeback. Didn't mention if it would be AFL be I guess that goes without saying.

Remember, he is still contracted to Brisbane so he could easily continue another year there before taking the coaches box in Brizzie.

What about Plugger, or was that more than 1 year out?

Yeah he was two years out, came back for 3 unsuccessful games in 2002 after retiring in 1999.

Definitely taking the P1SS.

I don't think humour is his strong point though.

And just quietly, if you remember, not only did he come back after a year off...he played in a Premiership team.

"I can't coach because I'll be playing next year" is just what Swann told him to say whenever he needs to dodge the "are you coaching Carlton next year?" question during the next 9 rounds ;)

Voss may need to pull his boots on to be able to climb over the stinking rotten carcass that is our current coach.

My memory is vague as I was only a kid but I'm sure Ablett retired and came back as well.
