This topic has been done to death in one form or another, but surely our next coach should have recent(last 10 yrs) premiership success as a coach or player
Voss
Matthews
Roos
Worsfold
Ratten,McKenna (worth a try).
etc,etc

Forget

N Daniher
Buckley
Bond
Harvey
Thomas
etc,etc

Using that argument Mark, Sydney would never have appointed Roos (not a premiership player), and probably not have won its Premiership.

The more I listen to N Buckley the more he impresses me as a coaching candidate. Eddie will never let him leave te Filth though. He'll sack Mick if he has too.

Malthouse is contracted for next year. You'd think that Buckley won't play next year, so would be available.

IMHO though, Buckley won't accept a senior position without doing an apprenticeship first. I'd snap him up as an assistant next year.

Carlton are much more likely to get someone like Matthews than Malthouse.

The deep fried bacon sandwich clause in the contract is too great from what I hear.

I'd add Karl Norman in there BV. I reckon he had All Aust talent, and despite his waywardness I think he was easily led rather than bad and I hoped we might have given him another chance. Still I don't reckon we missed a Simmo or Fish in the 03 draft. And while we might be better with Tuck or Raines, neither Hawks nor Tiges rated them worthy of f/s pick.

Maybe Norman was there for the taking because of his waywardness. Talent alone isnt enough so he's not the best example.

As I understand it that's pretty much on the money, a talented player with a piss-poor attitude.
