I am Greek/Croatian but born in Australia.

I think the Pies would have more Greek/Macedonian supporters than us.

We have lots of Lebanese supporters and obviously lots of Italian

Look around at a Carlton vs Pies Match - its like Milan v Aek Athens

You know what maybe thats the solution to the middle east problem. Rather than bomb innocent civilians maybe the Americans should be releasing free Carlton memberships across Iraq to Sunni and Shiite alike.

Thus giving them a common cause and re-uniting Iraq into a nation again.... and if they just happen to call a Jihad against all those scum and filth supporters... then we've just killed three birds with one stone. ;)

Just got the true story from my dad. In his words...

"It was not whisky. My grandfather made "Schnaps" out of 100% alcohol obtained under the counter from a chemist related to my father's family, and mixed it with a bit of lemon juice and a few secret ingredients. He gave it to me to keep me warm at the footy. That is what kept "a healthy mind............."

1. Born in Carlton. Both parents are Macedonian.

2. My mum said it was because Ron Barassi used to come on the "Happy Hammond" show with his Carlton gear on and also "Joffa Boy" from the "tarax show". I knew of no other teams as a small boy and those two wearing Carlton jumpers got me in.

1. Anglo Aussie (English / Scottish ancestry)

2. Sth Melbourne moved to Sydney and my dad proclaimed "We can not support them anymore son". My older brother was a Carlton man so I jumped on board ('82 from memory).

1) South African.

2) Was watching late night tv in South Africa and so happaned to catch the 1995 grand final on cable tv. I laughed at how stupid the game was (rugby union was the go), but when I Immigrated it started making sense and I was drawn by the familiarity of the navy blue jumper, plus carlton wooped ass back then.

1. HELLENIC!!! More specifically, from Macedonia...Thessaloniki to be precise.

Seeing as they some of you are including religion as a means of race, i'll also advise that i am Greek-Orthodox.

2. My dad is to blame for everything.

Born in Melbs but of Irish Heritage - poppy brought my dad and the family out to Oz in the 50's because things were getting a tad hot in the IRA.

Born into a Carlton family. Living two blocks from Princes Park and playing for Prices Hill as a kid confirmed it. Used to go to training on Tuesdays on PP no.1 oval and Jezza. Doully and the boys would be doing some warm-down stretches right next to us. Ahhhh, the memories.

Born In Italy arrived here with my parents in late seventies as a 3 year old.

By the time I had learned to speak English several years later one of the few words I learned through repetitive exposure on tv was "Carlton" ( they had won the premiership that year in 79 )

The rest is history, The term Carlton and everything it stands for has been a subconscious association of my journey through life thus far.

1. English heritage, 7th generation Aussie, Grew up in the Goulbourn Valley (country Vic).

2. Come from a predominantly Bummer supporting family, an uncle convinced me to barrack for Richmond in 1980, but back 2 back flags for the Blues in 81/82 fixed all of that and I've been a bluebagger ever since. GO BLUES!!!

Italian parents

I was born in Carlton

Followed them from the day my old man put a scarf around my neck and dragged me to my first game ('81 GF sitting on his shoulders). Not a bad start hey.
