This is the part I dont understand Verbs. :?
I stated the other day you only stir shit.
You seemed to take offence but has this thread not proved the point?

Your only contribution has been to take pot shots.
What actual involvement have you had here other than to shit stir?

Synbad told us we would draft Walker months before the draft.
He told us Beaumont would not play again for Carlton 2 months before he was traded.
We were told Carlton were chasing Longmuir and Chambers prior to the draft.
He knew Russell was our target and often stated that Deledio was a standout at number one but he would like to take Tambling.

He informed us what was happening during the overthrow of Elliot and often tells us the composition of the team days before selection.

Liar? coward?

Whats been your contribution other than cheap shots?

Synbad may be delusional in your eyes but he's given plenty of inside information to us.

What's been your contribution again?

Synbad you have changed your tune a little, you are quite clear in wanting us to lose, the playing the kids line is a smokescreen. My arguement is that we need not only to play the kids but also play to win, otherwise we are doing them a disservice.

I thought about your theory in the car on the way to work. (that is play the kids get rid of the senior group)

Given that the list is as bad as you say, we will need to stay on the bottom for at least 4 years to pick up the guns you say we need, now also given the these guns will need 3 to 4 years development, so we are according to your theory are 8 years away from making any significant progress a decade from a Premiership. Gonna take a lot of work to keep the sponsors and members excited for that long.

Yes BV Synbad does give us some inside infomation and always grateful for that. But so do plenty of others on this site. The main point of contention about Synbad is that he uses his position as an 'inside' man to drive an agenda by implying that his agenda is also the clubs agenda. A simple talk with Dennis would reveal that he is all about winning and maximising resources.

Synbad has his opinions and he has his theories and like everybody elses they are open to examination and debate. He also does get 'inside' information as do others. What he needs to do when posting is be clear in his differentation between the two.

Again i find myself agreeing with you BV.

After being out yesterday and now ploughing through this thread it is very easy to get the impression that Verbs is in it for the stir.

It is becoming increasingly clear in a number of posts, that our chum from Qld takes a contrarian view to Synbad purely for the sport of it.

By all means debate, but stick to the issues, the sniping does you little credit!

yes and that cheque book argument is such a load of tripe - what collingwood didn't? gee how silly of them.

What Essendon* didn't

Are you say but thats just the rich clubs.

Then do a look at Diamond Jim Tilbruk (?) for Melbourne - the Dees tried buying players but gee wizz they failed dismally - might have something to do with their culture.

Now richmond's a god case - had money and players and then, well fell into an almighty heap quite frankly - gee should have been easy for them.

St Kilda has plenty of good players and even good sides but they had a F@%&#! culture down there, nothing to do with money,a lot to do with drugs and beer etc.

Okay Fitzroy yes, but once upon a time they were fine, what happened/ Egg and chicken argument there.

Sth Melbourne - well yes, sad basket case so i'll give you that one.

Roos - well okay they were F@%&#! until they got money and a sweet, sweet 10 year rule from the VFL (even then they wanted to shaft some of us) and then they out bought the lot of us.

And the biggie, the absolute monster of them all - what the F@%&#! about Hawthorn - what about their brilliant sides raight rhough the 70's, 80's etc. How did they do that if it was all about just money you simplistic dick!

Gee maybe there are a few other things working here besides money - now if you wish to think carelton were only good because of money (which is what flower from crappy performing sides would have you belive, or tools like p. Smith who hates out guts) then go ahead and denigrate but in my mind that means you miss the whole point of this F@%&#! club!!!!

My point was that $$ was a component of the system under which we won a cupboard full of silverware. And of course all clubs used it too.

And the draft, including priority picks, is a component of the current system. Culture is a good thing but you can't get by on culture alone any more than you can get by on draft picks with no culture. In the heat of arguement people tend to slip into absolutes, but the world isn't like that. You need balance.

People also slip into name calling. Please don't, it's not terribly polite.

I'm sorry, but I can't remember Synbad saying the clubs plan was to play for Picks.

Now this discussion has deteriorated badly, as nightcrawler notes some name calling has been slipping in frequently. That is banned with the posting guidelines on TC.

When TC started up, we said that moderators would be stricter than we had been. I feel we have been too lenient again, and it is showing in the quality (or lack of) in this thread.

If the insults directed at posters continue, warnings will be given. If you disagree with a posters viewpoint, debate the post, not attack the poster. If you can't operate under those guidelines, please go to Big Footy and have a ball.

This was a silly thread to start with and has degenerated into a long dreary turgid 'he said you said, no i didn't, yes you did, you're an idiot, no i'm not you are, no you are' rant of no particular value. Let's get away from personaility based posts and get back to Carlton the team, express opinions and forget the petty bickering

Verbs...you are out of line whacking into Synbad about the credibility of the info he gives us...not all of what he tells is for Talking footy consumption and some who he can trust get the info a long time before it becomes public. His info is on the money as well..as BV said we all knew Walker would be picked.....Russell, Longmuir, Chambers...even Mott...thats not pissing in his pocket either....his info is as good as it gets.

Even team selections..ins and outs..he gets it right...

The facts are a good proportion of the posters are here for the info he gives us and I bet numbers treble at draft time/trade time, because he is a proven and reliable source....

I disagree with him on tanking but you need to get some runs on the board in terms of credibility of your own info before you start attacking someone on this site who has a proven track record of delivering the goods..

As Mark said, it's the PRESENTATION of the information that I was referring to. Why did Mark get it right and a bunch of other people completely missed the mark? Buggered if I know. But if you take the time to have a look at the archives over at TBV, well...it paints a somewhat different picture to what was painted last night. :?

why oh why are you still going on about this?

dont you know that Liverpool are champions of Europe?

I think Carlton need to watch the game tonight at 10 and see what it is like to play for a great club and to never give up no matter what the situation is.

Well done folks, you got in before the lock. :?

It's pretty clear that this thread has exhausted all rational debate, for the time being anyway. Let's focus on a few other things for a while hey! Even if it might be shouting Prez a beer on Liverpool's behalf.

If anyone has any problems with this thread being locked, I'm all ears.
