I’m a little perplexed as to why Karl has not been playing in recent weeks. He would have been invaluable against Richmond, Geelong, and Melbourne. Karl has height, pace and skill and is an enormous kick. Would have been a good matchup on Simmonds, Richo or Ottens. His rebounding capacity would have been very valuable. Would have also allowed us to use Lance exclusively at CHF.

He's not playing well enough in the 2's to warrant getting a game. Now if he can't get a game in the side at the moment, well, says a lot doesn't it??

Pagan is sending him a message.

he'll still be with us next year, Pagan won't give up on him, but he doesn't want him to get a game at this stage unless he earns it.

According to Headplant, who spoke to Karl at the Sponsor's Dinner, Karl has a lower back injury that is impeding him at the moment.

Karl Norman won't play another seniors game for the Carlton Football club. Best get used to it.

I must say that i dont think it is norman's form in the twos that is keeping him out of the ones - i saw him agst coburg and he was excellent - there must be something goin on behind the scenes as we need a player of his speed and height in the backline.

So dont worry about his form, as it is easily good enough.

It's a real shame when players never reach their potential, especially when it's poor attitude that's at least partly to blame.

I disagree.

Karl should not be played.

He has shown nothing. His attitude is poor, and he can't even shine with the bullies.

Others deserve a run before him.

If he can pull his digit out and excell in the two's play him.... otherwise chop or trade at season's end.

time to get tough.

Wanna play?

If he has a bad back - then the position still stands - when its better, excell in the two's and get promoted. Not before.

He has not shown the commitment I would have expected, when he has played in the ones, from a fellow on his last chance last year. To date he has performed well on the small opponent, and sadly lagged behind the opponent with mobility and good arial skills.

He could be great. But potential has its time frame. When does "potential" fail to translate - 1 year, 2...

What depressed me for three quarters on saturday was the suspicion that no one out there gave a @#$%&!, cared for the jumper or would bleed for the jumper. Not Stevens, not the downhill skier, not Lappin (and that hurts to say) no-one but Kouta, and then when he chose to.

Karl has not shown the desire we need. He may be a "D" class palyer (refer Sheehan), but he has nbt suggested he can be an "A" class player. He needs to. Him, and a couple of others need to show that not only do they want to play Football, but that they want to play football for Carlton.

We have the rest of the season to see who really fits that bill.

yes play him!
he's certainly a better defender than houlihan.
Play norman and get houlihan out of the backline!

Reward him for his passion to the cause and his singlemindedness in becoming the best footballer he can.
Its a message to the others to try and emulate Karl!!!!

What's all this about a lower back injury? Can't see why he is playing in the VFL if that is the case?? Why is VFL less of a risk?

But we can play Anguin?! Sorry but we really arent in the position to be playing these sort of games. I agree Kenny, he obviously doesnt want it that much - but we play Lance week after week, Scotland doesnt show much team discipline...and Anguin steals a bloody dvd player but waltzes on in...

Get over it Dennis, let the kid show what he can do in the 1s
