Just to see the specific numbers. There is a difference between SHOULD and WILL.

If the club is serious then Nick Stevens should get the job. All being well ofcourse in regards to his health.

I'd never been a stevens fan until this year when he proved he was working hard and deserved the captaincy. such a shame about his neck.

He was the defacto (onfield) captain during the pre-season and first few games. Not only that, he LOOKED like a captain on the field, with is efforts, and his direction. And he was sounding more and more like a captain off the field.

All being well, we might have ourselves a fantastic recruit next year, and a really good captain.

My preferred selection would come from Walker, Fevola and Stevens. The fact that Fev was overlooked for this week indicates the club don't see him that way - and they know far more than me, and the fact that AW is one of the select few not in the leadership group probably rules him out too.

The club should look to the future and that future is Murphy.

So long as stevens gets up next year, he will get the job. I'm not even sure if Lance will be here next season.

Let Stevens have it for 2 years and then give it to Gibbs.

agree with stevens being captain for 2 or 3 years but we all know murphy is our next long term captain.

Stevo should get the gig... He should ve had it this year as well as it seems the kids (Walks, Gibbs, Murph etc) look up to him more then they do to Lance.

How can you say murphy is definately our next long term captain, supercoach, and how can you say that the kids look up to Stevo more than lance? Have you asked them? I've heard they respect lance immensely.

Stevens should have the captaincy for at least three years. I want to see whether Walker really develops into a leader - he's the dark horse. Murphy looks like a captain, but saying he is a definate ahead of an 17-18 year old prodigy (Gibbs) is having poor foresight, in my insight. They may all be good captains. We need to see who is the best.

Maybe, but remember that everyone used to look up to Harry Madden. Was he ever captain? :)

I voted for 29HS but what about 44AC?

while carrazzo has lifted his game i don't think he is of the standard to be captain. I voted for Gibbs but that was in jest.

I think Stevo will get the job ahead of Walker, Murphy, and Simpson, but i would really not be upset if scotto got it either.

Hopefully with a bit of a luck we might get a 3rd round pick for him but I don't think clubs would be stupid enough to recruit him.
