WELL, as I write, I've just taken another important step in my comeback - a run with the boys. OK, it's the sort of thing I've done hundreds of times before, but this one was special. It was slow and easy, but special - my first activity back with the main group since my surgery. I just tagged along with Fev at the back of the bunch while the rest of the group charged ahead in a time trial around Princes Park.

He says he'll be going to Subi with the boys and he'll help out with the midfield as part of the coaching box staff. Good to see he's coming along :-)

Interesting that he said he was tagging along with Fev whilst they were doing a time trial. Obviously Fev is injured so was not able to take part with the main group. Not good news

iirc, Fev has always been at the back of the pack for the time trials (ie bottom 5 finishes) - in that respect, Fev might not necessarily be injured?

While his team mates have at least another 11 games to complete 2007, Nick Stevens' 2008 pre-season is now officially underway.

I would think that the whole team has started their pre-season, officially or otherwise.

Pre-seasons begining in June are becoming difficult to bear. :(

Now Pagan is making Stevens a "tagger" as well :)

Great stuff for stevo. He has maintained a high level of professionalism in an environment not exactly renowned for it over the past few years.
He deserves to come back fit and healthy and enjoy some success.

Fev stays at the back to make sure nobody cheats or does a "Percy Jones".

Great leadership initiative by the #25.
:P

It wasn't that long ago when Stevens was rightly considered as someone who didn't chase hard enough or threw in the towel a little too easily.

He started this season positively knowing that the captaincy position would soon be up for grabs again.

Best of luck in recovery Nick.

Stevo appears to be pretty good mates with Lance. When Lance was appointed captain, there was not a hint of sour grapes. He assumed the responsibilities of a loyal Vice-Captain under Lance, even though he wasn't given that title. He took the pressure off Lance by fronting the media when Lance was struggling during the preseason and in the first couple of rounds until his injury occurred.

I'd imagine that his dignity and sustained efforts after being passed over would have impressed everybody.

Great to hear that Stevo is climbing up that hill again. He's on the way to recovery.

He'll be king of the mountain in 2008.

One can only imagine the impact a red hot Stevo (as was his form in the NAB Cup and first 3 weeks of the season) would ve made to our side this year.
