Quite prophetic. Looking forward to finding this saviour of a coach, and Anderson being a star. Is there a biblical figure you could symbolise, blueman?

If we pick up a midfielder in the trade, our young rucks come on OK, our backline is settled and we have a reasonable run with injuries, we could make finals next year. Mahematically we could do it this year but we don't deserve to yet. Too inconsistent.
We have the makings, though.

Are you serious?? (About the "Hopefully with Den Den as coach")

I thought you couldn't stand the fella.

By the way, 2008 for me - IMO we're a lot closer that many people think. This is as long as there are no serious injuries, ala Stevens... we will have a decent, developed list next year, but still no depth whatsoever.

Sorry must have mis-interpeted "Den Den' as being Dennis Pagan. So for me it is 2009, I had hoped next year but we still need another year I think.

Den Den = ?

I dont really care what others think, all I know is what happened to me and how I occassionally dream or have a special sense about Carlton - sometimes in very vivid ways.

I had a premonition in 2001 of a terrible financial crisis at Carlton, a wooden spoon followed by a miraculous rise later on soon after an older coach left the club. We gradually recovered, from what was bankruptcy - led by a very influential president.

Despite what in a financial sense was insolvency, we were not actually in danger of folding as a club, because there were always people in the background who would not let that happen - but as we see now, Mr Pratt is very interested in teaching the man to fish rather than feeding him with handouts..

Our on field resurgence was led by a new young coach and occurred during a time of war - when we won a premiership from a low position in the final eight.

At the time of this occurring (2001), Carlton was in the finals, so this view of our future came as a shock, a deep shock as a matter of fact, as I was used to Carlton having downturns, but nothing like what I foresaw at that time..

Looking back, I did have a sense of this terrible future earlier, but I did not pay it the attention it deserved - because Carlton of course was a successful club - such things didnt ever happen to us - but how wrong I was..

So ever since 2001, I have remained true to this vision of Carlton , which I believe spans about a decade of time.

Much of what seemed improbable in 2001 has indeed come to pass, and now I do believe we are close to the resurgence I forsaw.

Now, as I have experience with such things in a general sense, when a human sees something of the future , often it might not be an actual depiction of what occurs, but might instead be symbolic in nature.

So, I am very cautious about predicting a future flag as such, although this did feature prominently in what I saw in 2001, and I have been given visions of other flags and glorious victories before they occurred, notably in 1999 and in 1995 - Earlier than this I did have a sense of these things, but I was not mature enough to use this gift properly.

At this particular point in the journey I am most interested in how our coaching saga and the turnover of our playing list unfolds. - for the way that these things pan out will set the scene for the next and I believe extremely exciting phase..

I am also very intrigued by the next move that wonderful philaphtropist and thespian, Richard Pratt will make. He is indeed a man who plays his cards very close to his chest - and you never really know when he might have an ace up his sleeve..

People that become too attached to material things dont always get a the best deal when they pass away, they cant take their money with them, but they still want to have it - it creates problems.

Which is why if you are rich, being a philanthropist is a good idea.

This is also why there are rules about this kind of thing - to protect people from themselves..

One rule is that you dont make predictions about people who are about to die, even though you might see people walking around without an aura - which is (if you will excuse the pun) a dead giveaway.

Another rule is that you dont get or give out lotto numbers.

Its in your interest to make sure that you keep to the rules.

It gets hard to keep what was a vivid vision of a future flag alive after 6 years - but I am stubborn enough to do so.

I know what happened to me and I am always looking carefuly at events as they occur. Obviuosly the appointment of Richard Pratt - this was one big gee up in the flag vision direction - but others are yet to occur.

For me, Id rather walk around with a vision of a flag, than with a vision of mediocity or worse.

So you're like Synners, but with vision.

So that makes you a normal person then??

;)

Nothing against you personally blueman, I'm agnostic to be honest. Maybe you're blessed with a connection to the paranormal, the metaphysical, or just have a part of your brain working overtime in assessing eventualities that us mere mortals don't. Maybe you're just a nutter.

Regardless, I hope you're right.

Maybe we should archive this post, Dog.
Personally I think it's too soon to call some of them such as:
Bower,
Austin
Raso and
Jacobs to name a few.
I also think that if Cloke comes back and is consistent, we may have a ruck or KPP option.
I am also just a little more optimistic than you about next year and think that with a full list, a good run with injuries and a good midfield pickup in trade week, we should finish in the eight. Splitting hairs I know with your prediction but I just wanted to see how my new avatar looks. :-D

I agree with that.

With the correct changes in coaching personnel & the weeding out of the last few 'senior' passengers on the playing list, I believe we have the natural young talent to make the 8 next year if injuries are limited.

...oh and animal cruelty is pathetic.

Agree Blue Sombrero,i think there is every reason to be optomistic about next season. As we have seen from Haw and Coll it doesnt take long to climb up the ladder once things fall into place. There are a few teams ahead of us with ageing lists having a last roll of the dice for a premiership. With the added experience of this season for our younger players, would should have a good mix next year.

No no no we can not possibly improve next year. It will wreck the realists plan. You know get another PP and No 1 pick and get rid of Dennis. Then and only then will we be delivered to the promised land.
