The Blues are upset that TD sold some seats that were supposed to be for Social club. I thought there was still a few empty seats anyway.

I had 3 moron Hawk fans next to me.All they did was yell out playr names all day. "Go Smithy","Good one Lukey". Nothing at all insightful, just annoying esp when you are getting belted.
At first I was furious that some Carlton fan had given them his social club pass but maybe the bought the ticckets.

Does anyone her give their membership to opposition fans to use. If so, why?

There was five seat empty either side of me easily. And plenty in front. Aisle 15 N58.

If you thought the Hawks fans were great at yelling out names - did anyone happen to catch the Peter Schwab, David Parkin love fest on ABC radio calling the game.

They talked non-stop about Hawthorn all night - before the game, during and after. Called blokes by their nicknames, lavished praise, licked arse etc - I thought it was disgracefully biased. Almost up there with when George Grulisich(?) used to call WA games.

Yep, one of the few times I've switched off the ABC call in preference for the the bozos on the TV. Parkin actually used the term "we" when referring to the Hawks recruiting. And in response Schwab couldn't shut up about "Yeah, that's why I recruited him..."

I cut Parko some slack because he at least tipped Carlton, and yeah, we were getting a flogging and have to cop it sweet when the game is so one-sided, but Schwab was over the top I thought.

The Dome sells reserves seats if they have not been scanned at match time and I have seen and heard the attendants being told to let opposition fans into areas as the ground fills. At least it was our home game so we should benefit from it financially to some extent.

Really they should reduce the amount of bays in the Social Club, most of the time it's doesn't get close to half full.
Still they should have arranged something before the match rather than make our members sit next to Hawthorn scum.

Yes because they are my friends.

Are home teams compensated for the Hawthorn members who receive free admission as replacement home games?

Yes...it is the "away" members who benefit, the "away" club itself has to recompense the "home' club for the tickets.

I noticed Ian collins gave the sgt. schultz excuse ''I know nothing''.
m If our members are going to be treated like shit, what the hell are we doing there? Dick along with most us wants the Blues playing on our own ground against the interstate sides. We should never have left there in the first place.

PS. Collo, thanks for nothing!!!

Asolutely surrounded by Hawthorn idiots on Fri night at our home game.We must have a home venue that at least feels slightly intimidating to the opposition. How does the AFL fully back games at Geelong yet wont allow exactly the same situation for us?

regardless of wether we get financial gain by someone filling a reserved seat from a carlton club captains member that is purely wrong and i support Greg swann for asking for an apology..

Myself i have not been able to attend a game at the dome due to other commitments

as club captain members we are entitled to our own seat regardless wether we turn up before the first bounce or wether we can only make it at half time for what ever commitments a person may have

Telstra dome is wrong and those captain club members that turned up and found out that there seats were taken are entitled in my opinion for some form of refund as the socail club members shouldnt have been driven out of there seats by the general public

shame on telstra dome for such prick of an act

cheers

It drives you nuts.
I've been fortunate enough to attend the Kouta club once or twice and have had to endure opposition supporters sitting amongst us.
Against the bombers, I had 3 ferals sitting 2 seats up from me gobbing off like no ones business in the first quarter.

Funnily enough they went quiet after half time.

What pisses me off is that a Carlton official gave them their seats. I can understand people wanting to look after their friends but Carlton people pay quite a bit of money to sit in that area without being infected by Campo lovers.

:P

I think thats the point BV. Sometimes I sit in non carlton areas and you accept opposition fans and take the banter. When you sit in a Carlton area, you don't want to hear a word coming from their mouths.

I remember once at PP, we asked the attendant to check the membership of a loudmouth hawks fan sitting in the Social club. He was then asked to go to genarl admission areas

I may have missed it but it appears the apology Greg Swann was looking for regarding Telstra domes shabby treatment of Carlton members has not been forthcoming........STRIKE TWO COLLO.
