we can only hope that Lance is placed on the long term injury list.
He is of no use on the ground. Too slow, too reactive, doesn't chase can't lead, lacks intensity and stops a kid from gaining experience.

Kids are the priority arent they, the trouble is that sentimentality and poor descision making seem to be getting in the way of what needs to be done.

If Hawthorn gave their young players plenty of game time to get where they are now, while we wrap ours in cotton wool and sit them on the bench for extended periods - then its a no brainer really..

This leadership system has to change, because it is the major reason why we keep losing by big margins, even when we seem to be going in the right direction...

This year, we had 10 leaders including the Captin, and each one of these blokes has made the assumption that the other 9 are doing something, so an entire group has gone to sleep and slacked off......

with all due respect, u dont just employ a new graduate and give him a leadership position and expect him to perform his duties...

Guys like murphy, gibbs, waite, Fisher, holihan & Fevola are all kids mentally wise... These guys have no maturity in them... they still chase chicks and occupy themseleves with late nights, drinks and parties...

no one is saying they shouldnt do these things, they are humans, but when you are running a footy team with so much responsibility, u need the older and cooler heads to take charge....

I was thinking about this earlier today. Who might we have as captain if the current captain falls in a heap, figuritively or in reality.

I am thinking Walker. I think he would be the ideal short-term replacement as I would argue he has matured immensely over the course of the year.

Other decisions could be made season's end

Interested in others' thoughts.

good point

but if 1 of the 9 are not willing to step up now and they are all waiting for the next bloke to do it, then this suggestes to me that none of them are actually ready.

IMO leaders pick themselves, they don't wait to be picked.

at this point in time we have no one ready to stand up.
