Its very easy to find negatives from Friday's game, but as hopeless the lads looked, im still far too optimistic for my own good and i can still cop that on the chin and move on.

Fristly, Hawthorn's movement of the ball was sublime. Instead of looking at how ordinary (for lack of a better word) we were, try and hurl praise at the Poo & Wee Utd (Hawthorn)

i've said it once, i'll say it again...we've waited 5years. I'm willing to wait another 10weeks. Losses like that suggest we havent moved forward at all...but we ALL know thats a load of tripe. Last year Hawthorn coped a loss or two like they pulled our pants down Friday Night....Now look at them. We forget that Geelong lost to Collingwood by 100+ points last year, now they're premiership favourites!...

An Embarrassment? You bet your ass it was...But its SO easy to jump off the bandwagon, but its alot more beneficial to look at the past 9 weeks and be proud of the inroads made thus far. i'm as passionate as i've ever been in my time as a blues fan, and sure being 18 i havent seen as many of the strong years as many of you guys/gals...but nonetheless i see posts from Mark Harrison etc from inside the club showing VERY positive signs. And i look at an unbelievably inexperienced side getting thumped and i take it for what it was. A Loss...the margin means sh*t all...

I'll judge the lads on how they react to a loss like that, not on the loss itself. You'll learn ALOT about a young kid's character on how they draw a line in the sand and say 'im better than that' I dont see us beating Fremantle next round, but i'll be VERY proud to see the boys put in 4quarters of effort and watch them prove just how strong they can be...

We lost...end of the world? No...Move On...GO BLUES!!!!!

Good positive post. Also agree. Forget the loss, it serves no purpose to dwell on it. We can learn from it, add it into the experience bank, and take a step forward. Show some unity for the team and the young boys. Don't think Gibbs, Anderson, Grigg et al would enjoy playing for a team which consists of feral jekyll and hyde supporters. That team is Collingwood and we're better than that.

Totally agree with the sentiments here.

Passionate supporters like most of us TC-ers are, tend to be like the stockmarket. We over-react to both the good news and the bad news.

While the result on Friday was pretty terrible, and certainly nowhere near what I was expecting of the night, the things that got us all excited in the previous couple of weeks are still in place.

The one change I would make is to bring in Aisake as we need to stop getting smashed in the rucks otherwise we start all our attacks from the half-back line. It certainly won't be an immediate panacea but I do think some serious on-the-job training will help Aisake.

Hey Nic. That's a great post. That was a painful loss on Friday night but you are right we need to look at the positives in 2007 and not focus on the negatives. :-D

Yep a great positive post.

However, I was hoping against hope that these 10 goal maulings would have stopped this year...

Unfortunately, that's the 3rd this year. Keeping up our average of 1 thumping every 4 weeks since Pagan was appointed coach.

Not good enough and totally unacceptable. I hope every single player and coach gets reminded of this fact.

I just wish that each player feels this pain, because it seems to me that the only people who are really passionate about this club at the moment are the supporters.

Perhaps they should be forced into reading some of the posts on here as well as donating their paycheques for Friday's game back to the club for such an insipid, lacklustre, emotionless effort from each and every player and coach.

I'm positive....yes. POSITIVELY DISGUSTED!

i say it after most big losses ahaha...flower that sounds bad...

ANYWAY...

after a bad game its all about how you bounce back...and even though this week its gonna be a big test...its more than about winning....its about pushing freo all the way...not dropping our heads...and fighting it out...

Thats the bit that really sucks. 3 in his 12 games so far - 25% - and is it any better than the last 4?

I really really think that we shouldnt be trying to move on from this loss. I really really think that until we can get close to the top teams in games like this we're just filling up the ladder. We need to be changing players and coaches over until we can do this. We're not just here to be an AFL team; we're here to be able to take on the top teams.

Players that can't match it with the top teams, when the pressure is on, need to be replaced with those who can. Those who struggle when the heat is on need to be burned off.

:-D :-D Great post. The fact is the We were murdered in the Ruck hitouts (22 to 55 - 33 free shots for the Hawthorn midfield) and this gave our defence no chance. It also made it very hard for our young and inexperienced midfield. I don't know whether Ackland just had a bad night or the whack on the nose he got from Cambell (which broke his nose) caused it.

But whatever was the cause, if your main Ruckman only gets 2 possessions and 13 knockouts out of 77, you are always going to be in trouble!

Look at what happened against Port Adelaide and WB when we won or broke even in the Ruck, our midfield fired up, our run was there and we finished up kicking over 20 goals in each match to win the Game.

If Ackland was injured then that may be an excuse. However, if he wasn't then he needs a large boot right up the backside and to be told in no uncertain terms to get his finger out and start performing for the side, or start putting on the Bullants jumper and give someone like Aisake, Hampson or Jacobs a go. They may be young and inexperienced, but if Ackland will not put in then they will be a better bet in the longrun! :) :)

So we give Ackland another chance?

After 11 crap games, and a terrible preseason, he was told to pull his finger out against Port...it was the last straw. Yeah, he got beaten overall, but he was competitive. Then we have this shit effort against the Hawks.

His nose was broken late in the game...big deal...I have seen many a player in all sorts of footy league's play with broken noses; I have...BIG deal.

I will be happy if he is dropped. The we are moving forward with a message regarding performance. If he is in the team against Freo, I ask what the message? I will be really pissed off with the MC.

Enough is enough...give a kid a go.

That we only have one senior specialist ruckman? That we don't want a young kid to have to be first ruck while he's still learning the craft and developing?

Oh yeah, please excuse me...

Great post Teen Spirit...as usual.

You remind me of what I was like 1-2 years ago. Great vibe.

Roll up, roll up, roll up...

35,000 members also believe.

We will be back...and on the way back, we will not accept insipid performances from those wearing the great jumper.

Go Blues, go Teen spirit.

You will see The Blues win premierships like we use to in the 70's and 80's; not suggesting for a moment that 1968 and 1995 were average or bad to be part of either.
