TIME

- Waste of it going to the match
- It's up for Whitnall and Pagan
- Hawthorn had so much of it
- Same mistakes, it and it again

not acceptable

we where smashed everywhere.

problem is, i had the sinking feeling half way through the first quarter, and called this is our worst game half way through the second quarter and i am not the type of the supporter that declared defeat.

but we where rubbish, on and off the field.

the amount of times we got smashed in the midfield was disgusting, fair enough they have two quality ruckmen and we dont have any however

it is up to coaching staff to realise this and actuall get our midfield playing of their ruckmen, but it was more than that, it was ever where. No running, no pressure, everythin we have done well the last month was not there. Everything we have been doing well we didnt do.

hawks are a good side, hard running and skillful, but the only thing Pagan got right last night, this shouldnt have been a 100 point loss.

very very dissappointed

dont think we have a winner IMO, no one really did well at all

Ackland was never a good choice... but Lance does care but his bodylanguage is of a man that knows its all over...

The first thing I thought about this morning when I woke up was poor old Fev. I really want Fevola to be a part of a premiership side, he is that good a player that he deserves it.

That mark he took in the first quarter, the contested one when he was

three deep - woww... just fantastic to watch. And he nearly took a

contested one handed mark in the third quarter but the hawthorn bloke

knocked it away.

Fev. can do things that other players can only dream of doing. The marketing people call soccer the beautiful game - well give me a fevola contested mark anyday over some guy shuffling the ball along the ground 10 metres....sorry- i know it isn't politically correct to like footy more than soccer, but that is what i feel.

Anyway, back to Fev. I think we should trade him at the end of the year to a team that can win the flag. He is wasted at Carlton. It is the least we can do- carlton were losing by 100 points last year and the year before and this year too and will probably be doing it next year.

"All we are saying is give Fev. a chance" (to be part of a flag team)

Sung to the john lennon tune give peace a chance.

I have lost a bit of passion for Carlton these days and I think that has something to do with getting use to 100 point thrashings. The Geelong one hurt a lot more than this one.

I have redefined my aims for Carlton for the year.

I only have two aims

1) Bryce Gibbs to play some time in the midfield = at least half a game. Is that too much to ask?

2) Fev. to be the only Carlton player in the forward 40 metres zone in a game. I don't care which one. All others pushed up to a congested centre half forward/midfield and to see Fev. kick 10 goals in that match.

Go Fev.

I don't think for one we are as bad of a team as that, but one thing we seriously lack is both discipline and accountability in a defensive sense.

Yes we look pretty when we run forward and we have won a few games, but we have no defensive sense out there whatsover and tonight we were shut down offensively and subsequently mauled as we cannot stop the bleeding at the other end.

Where is our @#$%&! plan b and c?

When you are getting smashed, how can you continue doing the same things and hoping things come good

People discuss the PP and crap like that, this IMO is a massive problem we currently are facing and when we play any side who is decent in defence and can us down offensively we will get mauled

Nah keep Fev.
Drop then retire Saddington Kouta and Lance.
Play kids.
get Kreuzer or Cothin and someone else or both and keep going...
Thats all you can do.!!!.... oh apart from sacking Pagan as well!!!

Pagans head must be old hat for the players to look at now.

Just have to get experience into kids. Picking anyone else is simply futile - a waste of eleven chances for Edwards, Grigg, Anderson, Benjamin, Aisake, Hartlett et al to have a go.

I'd rather watch them play, learn and develop, than ever see ackland in a Carlton jumper ever again. For a player on his third chance he is a disgrace. Someone should introduce him to the word "effort".

Embarrassing:

(1) The signing of Can Ackland to a 3 year deal. All those responsible for recruiting him need to take a good hard look at themselves and decide whether they should remain at the club. Ackland has a reputation for being a bludger, not forgetting he was dropped on a few occasions last season by st. kilda yet some of our rocket scientists decide to sign this non competitive clown on a 3 year deal.
The warning bells were ringing at the first trial run when Bryce Gibbs had to encourage him to get to the line
BLOODY EMBARRSING

(2) Lance Whitnall as choice of captain. What the flower were they thinking, this guy hasn't got a leadership bone in his body yet they appoint him as captain. Today’s game is all about speed and mobility yet he can't run or jump.
That they didn't have the balls to trade him two year ago was PISS weak.

(3) The use of the interchange bench. For Carlton its all about hiding and punishing our players were as other clubs use it for tactical purposes as part of their rotations. At the start of the 3rd quarter there was a ball up on wing (western side) and for some reason Murphy gets dragged and we are one man short at the contest. Surprise surprise the Hawks clear the ball and get a goal. 20 seconds later Murphy is back on the ground.

nah worries we will come good in 2 years, put that in your diary, stick it out,Whitnall,Saddington,Teague,Lappin and Kouta and a few others will be gone thats when we will have a real team that can go places, not knocking those legends and good players but their days are gone now and we still have a few to be delisted this year and next to clean all the skeletons out of the closet + the funny act of Coaches not talking to each other, that i would sack both if they can't talk to each other in the second half of this season and not just get messages to each other like little School girls having a Paris moment,i'm not talking to you for like ever.

Waite and fevola firing together in the forward line is a very formiddable combination. It gives fev the freedom of pushing up the ground, barry hall style, and leaving waitey down in the square, micky o'loughlin style.

now all we need is JK actually taking a mark every now and then too!

we need rucks ... badly

we can be handy against the not so good rucks, but when we come up against a good ruck combo, we get smashed.

ackland on three years - teribble, but we cant just throw in the kids either, they will get smashed, they need time to develop.

hate to say it, but cloke was a huge loss for us i think.

Setanta isnt going to be a proper ruckmen, a pinch hit in defence or forward, yes he could do, but not as a purpose ruckmen.

we got smashed in the midfield, but that was by and large due to the ruck work.

our effort wasnt good enough anywhere on the park, but that was where the most damage happened.

the clear disposal out of a ball up was vital in their success, yes they have a very good midfield, up there in the top 3 midfield in the comp IMO, however, they would be nowhere near as good, without the ruckmen they have.

we need 2 quality ruckmen badly. lets hope the kids we have in the bullants etc.. are the answer in a few years time

Agree with the above!

Pagan needs to go, he seems out of ideas...
We need a coach with a winning culture

I sat with my hands on my head from the second quarter onwards becuase I was tired of slamming my fists against my temples. We are beyond passionate here and into the disturbed for even watching that tripe and spew served up last night. We are sadists.

But I know it will change.

Pretty piss-poor effort by a few posters on here who have gone missing while we've been winning the last couple of weeks but are back suddenly for a bit of I-told-you-so.
