Big Nick is my all time Carlton hero. Looking at him now, he looks smaller than Whitnall in the body but those huge thighs made him a deceptively high leaper for the footy.
I don't know where you get these gems from but I just LOVE reliving them. The 1972 GF was a triumph of coaching and Big John's performance in that game shows what Lance might be able to do from the goalsquare if he were to be positioned there.

That first one is one of the goals of the year. Very few players can kick goals from that distance and super rarely do you see one come on the back of a holding the ball.
