Call me cynical but I reckon the record would have been passed before the Port Adelaide game. But that was a saturday night game on Foxtel.

This week however, we have a FTA friday night game with an audience 10 times bigger. Much better exposure for good news like this.

Somehow I reckon there may have been some 'problems' in the admin department and the memberships were not being counted as quickly.

I have had similar thoughts about this..

But anyhow, what a great result for the Blues family!

It's called getting more bang for your buck - whilst we have the stage, let's use it!!! After all, this is our 2nd and last Friday night game for 2007 :(

If our membership department have 'tanked', then good on them

Of course, nothing wrong with it at all. It would be disappointing only if it wasn't done.

Yes but wouldn't these new members have benefited by being officially counted and therefore being a part of that winning environment. It would have made them so much better and stronger members.

Nice to see that we're at least squabbling over how our new mebership record is announced, rather than trying to reason why not enough had signed up. The more things change, the more they stay the same!

I think we are confusing Channel 7's Friday Night coverage of footy with Channel 9's.

While 9 would have made a strong mention of it, Ch 7 would be either too busy showing commercials or replays of some totally irrelevant incident.

Sir Richard will mention at the Prez's dinner and it depends on whether the TV networks pick up on it if it gets reported.

Swanny might get an interview at half time and mention it, but at the end of the day, we are talking about Ch 7 and they are crap, so don't assume that we sat on the record until we had the exposure afforded Friday night footy - that exposure was a staple of Ch 9 who turned it into a major event/must watch TV.

Ch 7 can't be bothered with it all.

Add three more members. Have just sugned up MrsNTBlue and two grandkids who are all part time Bombers supporters. I told them i wouldn't take them to the Blues v Bombers game (when we are in Melbourne in August) unless they could come into the Sticks room with me. I think I have fully converted my granddaughter (who goes to school with Joey Andersons brother) but still have some work to do on Mrs NT and the grandson.

Be great if there was a Carlton supporting scientist out there who could create a mind altering drug that would convert anyone you want into a Carlton supporter.

Hey Jars, if I can rustle up some Jedi Knights, you wouldn't need any drugs - we are pretty good with mind altering skills! 8)

Hang in there guys. The announcements will flow soon enough. This is our last home game before the June 30 cut off.

I wonder if the views this thread has will match the membership number by Friday's announcement. I reckon the actual membership number will still be out in front, and that's a bloody good thing!

:-D :-D :-D
