Can pratt give a new player obtained in the trade period a job at visy doing bugger all one day a week, and pay him around 100K???

Would that be possible??

I don't see how, but i thought i would ask the question for those in the know.... :)

Of course it's possible.

James Hird has/had a part-time job at J.B.Were earning a 6-figure salary for a few hours work per week. By the way, his boss there was/is Ron Evans son.

Nathan Buckley used to do a similar thing. A guy I know told me about how Buckley was unusual for a football player because he actually turned up from time to time for his job.

I was under the impression that those sorts of quangos were outlawed under the TPP, or their salary had to be included int he Cap....

If Reiwoldt wants to walk to us in the PSD he could easily. Who will finish below us? Realistically Brisbane, Richmond and possibly Melbourne and St Kilda.

Thats because it was organised by Ron Evans who was a miserable corrupt lying sack of shit.

I can say that now because he is dead and cant sue.

Come to think of it I said that before he died.

Would be a HUGE mistake getting NUTS Riewoldt. Bloke has a reputation bigger than his abilities. No wonder The Explosion refers to him as Not Up To Scratch!

Don't want him at Carlton at all, and would be a step backwards for the club moving forward.

As an observer from far far away, I think you are correct KK. IIRC Collingwood in the 60's or 70's were paying a footballer to be a groundsman at an exhorbitant salary, but the rules were changed to stop this sort of rorting of the TPP. I have heard of clubs in more recent times being able to get away with providing virtually unlimited freeby airfares to extended family to attend games - although this is also supposed to be outlawed.

Would rather Dal Santo.

In all seriousness, we have enough tall options - as good as Riewoldt is, Dal Santo would improve our side a heap more.

exactly what I was thinking

If we get Riewoldt we will have to give them Kennedy and a first round pick. I cant see Kennedy and Riewoldt in the same team.

If we got Rooey Id play him in the midfield-
has the aerobic capacity and the foot skills- also a big body
dont really need any forwards- it would most certainly mean bye bye josh..

Josh please don't call him 'Rooey' - he is overrated St Kilda filth - he is their 'great player' who is meant to be leading them to glory and look where they are!

Would fit in with his policy of obtaining the 'best available'. The club would be remiss in its responsibilities in not talking to any uncontracted player who could add value to our list.

Not "the best available" - the best. According to Dick, if they are available, they are not the best.

Dal's the one I reckon. If Carlton had a fair dinkum crack he'd be a real chance I reckon.
