I was going through the entry for the Blues at wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlton_Football_Club} and found this incredible list. It shows the position we've finished, and the number of times we've finished it.

Quote:

1st
1906, 1907, 1908, 1914, 1915, 1938, 1945, 1947, 1968, 1970, 1972, 1979, 1981, 1982, 1987, 1995

2nd
1904, 1909, 1910, 1916, 1921, 1949, 1962, 1969, 1973, 1986, 1993, 1999

3rd
1903, 1905, 1912, 1917, 1918, 1920, 1929, 1930, 1931, 1932, 1941, 1959, 1967, 1976, 1988, 2000

4th
1911, 1919, 1922, 1927, 1928, 1933, 1935, 1936, 1943, 1952, 1957, 1975, 1978, 1980, 1984

5th
1934, 1937, 1939, 1940, 1942, 1944, 1953, 1956, 1971, 1983, 1985, 1994

6th
1902, 1913, 1946, 1948, 1926, 1963, 1965, 1966, 1977,1996, 2001

7th
1897, 1898, 1899, 1900, 1901, 1923, 1924, 1951, 1955, 1958, 1960, 1974, 1992

8th
1950, 1954, 1961, 1989, 1990

9th
1925

10th
1964

11th
1991, 1997, 1998, 2004

12th nil
13th nil
14th nil

15th
2003

16th
2002, 2005, 2006

Key points:
-Very top-heavy list
-The ones down the bottom have a sad trend to them
-Up until 1991 we never finished lower than 10th

Exactly the sort of thing that makes me swell with pride at the club I support. Let's hope we can add some more to the top :-D

Sadly there is not a similar table on the saints version. But I did find this :-D

Quote:
Wooden spoons
St Kilda F.C. have won a total of 26 wooden spoon awards for coming in last place in the following years:

1897, 1898, 1899, 1900, 1901, 1902, 1904, 1909, 1910
1920, 1924, 1943, 1945, 1947, 1948, 1952, 1954, 1955, 1977
1979, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1988, 2000

Say what you want about saint supporters, but you have to admit, you'd have to be pretty loyal to stick with a team with a history of failure.

Gotta love that "golden period" from 77 to 88 with 7 spoons in 12 years!
