It hasn't been mentioned so I thought I'd mention Ackland.....IMO....he did alright against more recognised ruckmen, and didn't stop trying all day around the ground in general play.

Fair point - 2 weeks in a row.

That is true.

He was good last week and OK today.

The centre breaks did hurt us though.

What is scary is....imagine how good we would be if we did have an elite ruckman

Then you have Walker, Gibbs, Carrazzo and Murphy being touted as the next big thing for sure.

Acland tries really hard. So does Santa, but we need a little more ATM.

After a poor start to the game he really fought back and provided a ruck contest. Can't ask for much more than that.

Perhaps Ackland is somewhat embarrassed that we're going to our 4th year Irish import in ruck, hence pulling his finger out...

Pros:

-We're now the second highest scoring team in the AFL - we are very potent!!
-Gibbs is getting better week after week, and today was very good - we have a star!!!
-Carazzo has arrived, is a ball magnet and most of the disposals he had were effective - I think Ratten has had a major influence in the way he's playing this year.
-Walker, just goes to show midfield is where he'll tear a new one for the opposition. He should never be played in the backline again.
-Banno, I'll eat humble pie, was against his promotion, but proved me wrong today as did chief Wiggins (both were fantastic - need to follow up next week)
-Anderson, before he went down looking a likely type and fitted in nicely.
-Kouta, I was calling for him to retire at the end of last year, but his role off the bench this year has brought about a new lease of life for Kouta. I actually think he may go around next year, if this continues.
-Murphy, was just Murphy, all class and went on with the job after the umps wouldn't award frees that he'd earnt
-Doggies had the better of the frees, yet we still managed to win - the players just went on with it, and didn't let it worry them.
- We won a milestone game for T-Bird (if ever a guy deserved to win a milestone game, it would be this guy - probably played in the worst part of our clubs history, and still rack up 100 games - I will guarantee his next 100 will see success)

Cons
- We have the worst defence in the league with the most points scored against us

Pros:
Carazzo. What more can I say?
Kouta's best game for a long time
Gibbs' best game
Smurph

Cons:
Panic footy at times (What was Kouta thinking by handing off 3m from goal!?)
Opposition teams rebound far too easily
Woeful depth in the ruck, and Ackland is out of sorts.

Far more pros than cons, as there have been all year, for mine.

I'll sleep well tonight, and wake happy on my birthday.

PROS Benching Lance after six (count them) ordinary efforts up forward in the first five mins of the 3rd quarter, and banging on eight goals in a quarter without his "leadership".

CONS The Captain's effort was slow and lazy. Sunning himself on the pine for most of the afternoon is not helpping anybody. I fear the game is passing him by...

It wasn't a mark, the umpire called it a play on, so he has to handball to someone.

 - We were going off our tits so loudly we missed that small fact.

Sorry Kouta. Sorry Everyone.

His initials aren't Dale Thomas

PROS
Bannister and Wiggo. Let's keep it going
The old boys. Lappin and Kouta
The youngsters for running all day, keeping up the pressure and believing in themselves.

CONS
Joe's injury. Was just starting to gain momentum.

Pros:
Protected the ball carrier really well today.
Lappin up forward, where he belongs.
Honouring targets other than Fev.
AW in the engine room (where he belongs) during the decisive third quarter.
Carrots. Great to see a blue-collar guy succeed.
Setanta's goal! Great stuff.
The boys won. So it's all good, really.
We may not win very often, but we're pretty enjoyable to watch.

Cons:
We've played at the MCG four times this season, for three wins. If only it was our home ground...
Crowd was pretty disappointing. 35k.

Just as we thought they were gonna run away, the boys stood up. Good effort

PROS

1. Fisher - It's almost time to confirm he's a player. Contests. Kicking improved out of sight, I don't know how.

2. Carrazzo - Contest between him and Fish for most improved. Kicking also improved out of sight. Got a bit cute in 2nd quarter, runner came out, he corrected it - great.

3. Gibbs - does he f*ck up? Ever? No, really, ever? Also, and I called this after NAB cup game 2 - he is the most technically correct tackle I've ever seen - can;t break it.

4. Midfield engine - between 7, 13 and 44, they have a lot of grunt.

5. Can't believe I'm saying this - Banno. Great effort. Still A LOT more to do if he wants to prove he's genuine.

Special mention - AW, if unleasehed properly by the coach he'd be a star. Murph - love him

CONS

1. Match up of AW on Johnson - Come on Denis, he's a gun midfielder, we can see it. Unleash Andrew Walker. Ridiculous matchup He also shouldn't have to follow Cooney to our back pocket.

2. Long bombs - we still don't lower our eyes entering 50

3. Houla's first half - soft efforts, fumbles. Improved later

4. Waite's football brain - for the son of a VFL champion, he has a shocking sense of where the game's at. Makes too many uncomposed decisions

5. Heath - got beat for the first time this year. Will bounce back

Special mention - WHAT ARE YOU ALLOWED TO DO TO MURPHY!!!!! If Pagan doesn;t complain to Geischen about the treatment murph receives, we have no balls as a club. He was raped. His goal was class

Well done carlton
I knew Fisher would make it in the AFL from day one after following his performance in the under 18 and was suprised he went so late in the draft. I think we would have not picked him up in the draft if we didn't have those penalty, but i knew he would make it off that draft especially as he was teammates with Kade Simpson.

I knew he could take great marks up forward, you need players like that for example Scott Lucus who can mark and kick goals, his only problem was his kicking sometimes, but that's the job of assistant/Skills coaches who get paid to help them to correct their problems.
