Do we really need poor arguements like Pagan told Manton his career was over therefore Pagan should be sacked.

The arguments to sack Pagan in this thread are silly.

I have no doubt in my mind that Pagan will find it tough to keep his job next year. It has nothing to do with Hulme or Manton, it is due to the fact that we cannot climb the ladder and history proves under Pagan we could not improve as a team. Simple as that.

There are many arguments that support Dennis i.e. No draft picks but the hierarchy at Carlton will need to change for the sake of change.

This decision is a very important one and I hope they don't stuff it up. If Pagan is sacked, then we cannot afford to be changing coaches again in 2 years time. We would waste over $600,000 to payout Denis's contract. I don't want membership money being poured down the sewer.

Agreed.

This is why I'm leaning towards a tried coach - i.e. a Paul Roos

No we do not, and it will stop now.

May we remind you all YET AGAIN....stick to discussing the topic of the thread.

Oh so you've never copied and pasted before Jarusa , no probs , you should try it sometime , it goes alright.

It is plagiarism, and if you do it to the wrong person you will get sued.

Actually it may not be $600K "wasted". We're paying Pagan $600K regardless of whether he coaches us or not. If we sack him we'll be paying an extra $300K to $1 million depending on whom we appoint for next year.

Considering Dick Pratt's pumped over $3 million into the club since he took over I can live with "membership money being poured down the sewer" if he deems it appropriate to pay out Pagan at the end of the year.

As pointed out the reasons in this thread for sacking Pagan are bullshit. The decision should be based on one criterion only - is there anyone else who would do a better job next year than Pagan?

If we believe we've got someone else who can fulfil that then sharpen the axe.

Well said GWS.

As a side note, as it becomes more and more obvious over the coming weeks that DP will most likely not be coaching in 2008 we are going to see more and more threads like this one.

The Carlton forums will get quite ugly by the end of the year as the vultures finish circling when they see that the victim is finally dead.

its what I do not understand Jar

Okay early on I understood people like SB attacking Denis while most defended him, but it seems to me the end is nigh so why are people now getting so vindictive?

And despite reservations, I am still enjoying the way the kids are playing and am glad we are at least playing attacking football.

There are still plenty of decent DP critics on the forums. However ...

it is IMO human nature that the sane critics will get drowned out by the 'vulture' mentality that will happen more and more when it becomes more and more obvious that DP's time is coming to an end.

It is going to get nastier unfortunately.

I to am enjoying watching the young up and coming champs playing for the club. I will be very happy if the club thinks they have found a new coach that will offer more than DP does for 2008. But until then I do not think DP is doing the players irreperable harm for the remainder of 2007 with the way CFC have been playing.

You should pay a little more attention to human behaviour danny...

Did you ever notice how 'human' and 'hyena' both start with 'h'... :?

Then again so does 'hippocampus' so you never can tell what's relevant.
