Quite right Verbs.
We're 15th on the ladder. We're getting flogged by average opposition.
Lets not be negative.
Campo got 22 effective possessions.

You call posters "richmond supporters" because they criticise players.
Players who deserve criticism and would be getting plenty from Denis.

Perhaps you should arm yourself with some knowledge other than the stats sheet.
You didnt see the game, you dont know who anyone played on and you dont know half the opposition.
Accountability and defensive application is all airy fairy stuff to you.

Supporters have a right to be pissed off.
They have a right to criticise sub standard efforts.

You're jibe was weak and poor form.

What jibe? Please inform me.

What do you consider not seeing the game? The old chestnut: if you weren't at the game you don't know shit. What a load of baloney. Forums like this would have only a handful of members if that was the case. I've been to enough games of footy to know the difference between being there and watching on TV, and I'm smart enough to be able to read through most of the bullshit that comes out, espcially by those who think they're so superior because they were actually at the game.

Since when have I actually denied a supporter the right to be pissed off? You may read that into things, but if you find being labled a "Richmond Supporter" the height of offense, I'd suggest you seek some help. Criticise all you want, but don't go complaining when I actually have the balls to stand up against the pack mentality and not follow the heard. If you are going to criticise, expect some back. Do you hear me complaining about the countless times I've been told to shut up? Never have, never will. I'm not a paranoid whinger, that's why.

Lets disregard all the jibes and stuff

I know we're all entitled to an opinion, as I formed an opinion from deliberately deciding to watch Campo for much of the game in response to all the Campo discussions of late.

Let me say that if our backline was on top, and could have forced more turnovers, Campo could have been the hero. In my mind, he was a key link man in the middle of the ground and despite his relative lack of height actuallya go to man in the middle. He earned a lot of the ball wide and despite Verbs pick-up of the HB/shepherd, I didn't think he created much on his own.

As it was, our defence did not force more turnover s and Campo was caught out of position on many occasions, too many occasions. Thus, the original post. Campo should have been defending, picking up someone to at least slow down their forward moves. Too many times was he meandering through the middle, or jogging to pick someoen up. As a senior player he should have been better, in my uninformed Carlton view.

If Campo was instructed to stay out by the Coach, to earn the possession on the fast break, then clearly I'm in the wrong.

You can argue stats all you like, but while some players are being forced to cover for others in the middle, we won't be playing well as a team.

that's where the b&f tally ells us if players played well "according to instruction"...it's hard to know what instructions they have.
(But I'm betting defensive pressure is a given for most of our blokes...in fact it was in the pre-match address)

At the moment it is a tale of one premiership player - isn't anyone going to comment on the bloke wearing 43?

Dennis also noted after the game that he felt that Kouta, Nick and Campo needed more support in the centre.

You're right Verbs.
Even if you were at the game, it appears you wouldnt know shit.

Lets agree to disagree, I'm paranoid and need help and you have no idea.

We can move on now and talk Carlton.

Spot on Bluebird.
Kouta turned back the clock at times on Saturday.
One handed pick ups, accelerating out of packs.
His mobility seems to be as good as its been for a couple of seasons.
I thought he tried to singlehandedly drag us along.
His ability to read the ball at stoppages is fantastic.

One thing about Kouta, you can see the current state of the Carlton Football Club cuts him deep.
Lets hope all the players are hurting as much.

See, that's what's typical of the insidious attitudes the negative nellies I speak out against. This "you have no idea" bullshit people keep on coming up with when someone challenges what they're saying. It's the lowest form of arguement. In fact, it doesn't even constitute an arguement. It's a belittling MO which is pathetic and weak and seems to be quite popular on this site.

When someone actually argues with identifiable facts out comes the "you're a troll" accusation and some crap about TBV...WTF??? :?

To think you know it all and anyone who qustions that has no idea is woeful. To lable them a troll and say they have no idea all because you weren't directly called a Richmond supporter is the height of comedy.

I would have thought I was one of the more positive posters on this site. :?
But now I'm a negative Nelly.

You are having running arguments with half the people on this site Verbs.
Unfortunately I was gullible enough to get caught up in it.
Your spats take over half the threads on TC.

Give it up.
Lets move on.

"It was the BEST of times. It was the BLURST of times."

Did anyone see Koutas HAT on Saturday afternoon?

Most of you will say no, but I saw it. This was no ordinary HAT it was a metaphorical HAT.

Kouta was the only one who wore his HAT on Saturday. In fact at every change Kouta changed his HAT.

First qtr he wore the HAT of tradition. He was the only player who appeared to be playing as if they cared this was the last game at PP.

Second qtr Kouta wore his HAT of pride. He respected the proud history of the club, and those who played before him and despite two faulty legs managed to conjure brilliance.

3rd qtr Kouta wore his HAT of passion. He vowed to make a contest at every opportunity. He vowed to lead by example and vowed to display what it is to be a carlton FOOTBALLER. (Notice the emphasis on Footballer not Carlton). Rumour has it that Kouta had this HAT on before the game as well.

4th qtr Kouta wore his HAT of reflection. Instead of touching the ball, Kouta sat back and reflected on how special this game was to the crowd and past players. During this reflection period Kouta became interested in why none of his PROFFESSIONAL, HIGHLY PAID team mates could play with the same Passion, Heart, Pride, Responsibility and Poise that he does.

The siren went and KOUTA threw all his hats down in disappointment and anger. For everything kouta has devoted the last 12yrs of his life to was disgraced...

HATS OFF TO THE CARLTON TEAM... HATS OFF TO DENIS.....

NONE OF WHOM HAD THEIR HATS OR MORE IMPORTANTLY THEIR HEARTS SET ON WINNING A GAME OF FOOTBALL FOR WHAT WAS ONCE A VERY PROUD CLUB!!!

cc, to quote the pantheon of writers himself:
'as the sun swept across the once famous suburban ground, and the sands of the hourglass had the last grain filtering through to the other side.. all that was left was hat... hat... hat...

just beautiful cc. kouta is, in all respects, the best player i have ever seen don the navy blue guernsey. and for that, he should wear his navy blue hat. a hat permeating with pride..

Funny you take this view. I didn't have a single bad word to say about you before you called me a troll, I'm only here to shit stir, said I had a chip on my shoulder and that I don't have a clue. In fact I hadn't said anything against you personally AT ALL prior to that. I was debating your point of view.

And now you're telling me to give it up?? :?

What a gentleman.

Ah yes.... Campo... the gutsy leader of our midfield

funny how our best periods are when he ISNT in the middle . :D
