I've always been a defender of Fox. Always thought they had the best coverage of any of the networks. Then I watched today's game.

We were served up the commentary team of Retard Russell, Pathetic Parkin and Spastic Shaw.

According to Russell, Murphy had at least 30 touches in the first. Any time a Carlton player under 6" touched the ball he was called as Murphy.

Parkin basically said at one stage that Waite wouldn't have been playing if he was coach. Clever. But in character I guess.

And Shaw was just shit. Fancy saying Walker was going badly. Goodwin's 'devastating' 15 stats were all earned in the back half. It was clear that it was Reilly who was dominating and they didn't even comment on it.

And they had no time clock for 3/4 of the game. @#$%&! annoying in a game we were getting owned by the umpires and we were so close.

Fox = Crap.

agreed but all the networks smack of half assed efforts so far this year

this tv deal is shocking - its like all the work went into getting it that they dont give a shit with what they should actually do with it

Russell also called Blackwell and then Thornton 'first gamer Hartlett'.

And how many times did he bleat on about Byrce Gibbs and the Father/Son rule?

I went down to the Brisbane Bronco's club to watch the game today.

Nice flat screen TV, volume turned down to zero.

No complaints about the coverage from me. :)

It was a disgrace. Russell called the wrong carlton player at least 4 times in the first quarter.

And does it give anyone else the shits when they persist in replaying everything while the play goes on? Sometimes we miss a couple of possessions while they replay something.

Yes, he did harp on about Gibbs. Mentioned it almost straight away _ "He should be playing for Adelaide" and later in the game it was words to the effect of: "Yes, his father played 256 (or whatever it was) games for Glenelg and he still deson't qualify for Adelaide under the father-son and yet Lance Whitnall's father played 67 (or whatever it was) for Carlton and qualifies. Can you believe that". Along those lines, anyway

Get over it.

And they were all having cracks at AW.

took them until halfway into the third quarter to 'apologise' for not having a clock showing how much time was left in the quarter.

Dwayne Russell's commentary about Adelaide dominating the game in the seond quarter when they were only 7 points in front.

I think it is much like the case of the other chanell's, they paid too much for getting the rights and now that are trying to re-coup some of the costs by cutting back on the cost of broadcasting.

Overall it means an inferior product for the viewers.

Yeah, he said "Carlton is on the ropes".

Seven points must be a big margin in the Russell household.

The thing that annoys me the most is the camera work. Half the time it is down in our backline and they are showing players walking around in the foward line. Another thing that annoys me is that they show replayes while the game is going on.

Forgot to mention that. Good pickup.

That was very annoying, two or three possessions were missed at times because of replays.

I despise that tool Russell - he had Ch10 David White on 3aw thursday night & he was sucking up to him massively, virtualling beggng for a job - congratulated him on getting the US Open golf & how good it was for Ch10 sport. I phoned Dwayne up shortly after & reminded him on-air that on Easter Monday night, he was quite rightly bagging the crap out of Ch10's terrible US masters golf coverage & asked him why he had now changed his tune? True to form, Dwayne pretended he didn't recall - said he couldn't remember even watching the US Masters.

If you guys don't like the television stations, why complain about it? Either tune into the wireless or start up your own television station.

98.9 did a great job, I thought!! And they're all in agreement that as frustrating as it is for Blues supporters- we're not that far off when you get down to brass tacks....

Surely given his moral outrage, he must have meant that Ross Gibbs played 250 games for Adelaide, not Glenelg. Or should we have first dibbs on every long-term player from the Bendigo leagues?

My god Dwayne Russell is a tool. He is almost as bad as the one eyed freo supporter Gerard Healy, man I hate that knob too.

Yeah, so what if Gibbs father played 400 games for Glenelg, how many did he play for the ADELAIDE football club??? - 0
Let's not forget, they joined our league.
Whitnalls father played for carlton, in the VFL/AFL league!! not a crap irrelevant SANFL side.

Just carrying over from his form at Ch 9 whos Sunday coverage was the worst to ever be aired. He and Brain Taylor were and are a disgrace. Its so good to know that we dont have to listen to the above and Garry Lyon sharing their own private jokes and cracking up laughing during the game. Unfortunately they've moved on to Triple M.
