we dont have to tank games, just play young talent with an eye for the future.

looking at the next 5 or 6 weeks, I dont think we will win much more than one game unless there is some kind of dramatic improvement.

You guys are making out as though, Melbourne, Geelong and Richmond are crap teams.

Why tank ? Dennis Pagan did a few things today I liked.

One of them being Bentick, Simpson and Walker playing out of the middle at the same time in various stages of the game.

Melbourne is a good team.

I must admit I did like the youngsters in the middle, they did better than regulars(Kouta excluded) :) I don't think we're half as bad as we are playing. We have NO confidence and our skills are shot ATM. We are much better than the last 4 games but mentally were not showing up till the games over.

Totally made me smile....a great thing to do...at long last. Give these kids TOG....
I thought Simpson was very good today

Carlton supporters want their team to be a force of the competition again and this is unlikely to occur unless we can obtain our fair share of top shelf talent.

If we finish last, or 15th or 14th through our own lack of ability, then so be it.

It will hurt, but they're my team, and I still love 'em.

But if we deliberately play in a way which is guaranteed to lose matches, then we deserve to lose sponsors and members and RESPECT as a result.

I think Denis is tanking with his forward line setup, and by picking Scotland.

Sure, we have crap players up the field, btu when the ball does go in... what room for Fevola, one of our few decent players??? Why have 5 marking targets competing for room, when you have 1 awesome one who can create a contest????

And don't worry about defenders smothering their man. With players like Scotland in the team, sheer weight of opponents from the middle make defending impossible.

Agree, he´s coming of age, starting to feel comfortable at this level ... that´s all he´s lacked, belief and body size and there are signs he´s starting to get both.

Why when he exploded out of the centre and delivered it 50m toi the Kouta´s advantage resulting in a goal did he get pulled out of the centre and onto the wing? Tore my hair out.

I've been saying this for the past few weeks, Simpson is gaining confidence in his ability, and I noticed it in the last quarter of the Hawthorn game, and he hasn't looked back. Is getting better, and will be a 100 to 200 game player.

After he was taken out of the middle, I did cringe, too!!!

Simmo was doing TOO Well... Denis had to act and act fast if the priority pick was to stay in our hot little hand..... :D

I was calling to play Simmo last year...he should have had another 15 games under his belt. thats why Bentick and Co need to stay in the side... Thats why id still bring in Setanta every chance i get.

Stuff finishing 13th ... the big picture is much bigger than spot 13 with 7 wins under the belt...

Guys, we've been tanking since the lost to Collingwood. Pagan is seeing far into the future and realised way back then what was going to happen.

Hawthorn and Port almost stuffed it up for us - man those guys are bad!

ps SLIMMO!!!!! Nothing to do with confidence at this level guys, he is once confident kid. Its opportunity. If i gave you 5 minutes to prove something to me you'd flounder. He is now getting game time and is part of the rotation. How many players on our list can you rotate off the wing, int he middle and back pocket - on their fastest player? SLIMMO YOU'RE DOING US PROUD

Now freaking kick those easy goals you hack or we'll trade you. Bloody little Simmo.

I couldn't believe Scotland got picked yesterday, I like him as a player in a side that is playing with confidence and running in waves, but his form in the last month has been sh$^ house. He is no where near a good enough player to be a walk up start, even on this list. We should have played Clark, Russell, Davies or probably another half dozen before him yesterday.
