Kouta showed(...dare I say it) LEADERSHIP, he was the only one up and going all day, great Captains day...he did us proud. Agree Deluca was good today(although wouldn't have picked him given the choice prior to the game).

kouta has shown LEADERSHIP all year! In fact, Kouta is the only player that deserves to lead this team.

I know there has been at least half a dozens posts suggesting that he hand over the rank at the end of the year but honestly.......tel me a player that is worthy of the posistion of Captain!

Stevens........................? His last few weeks have been awfull! A disgrace.
Admit, he was good after half time today and he's two goals came from him showing the rest of the team how to play with some BALLS!

Lance..........................? He's made no secret that he has wanted it for many years now, but has done nothing to prove himself worthy!

Fev.............................? IMHO, showed fantastic leadership in the Wizzard Cup. But will he even be at the club at years end?

Camop........................? Get's suspended to often!

Thornton......................? Well, considering that 90% of the game is spent in our defense, he's probably the best option.

Waite..........................? With the way he's playing latley, he could be a good option?

Who else do we have?

Bentick? Houlihan? Betts? Lappin? French? DeLuca? Walker? McGrath? Teauge? Carrazzo? Wiggens? Simpson?

Was a dig at those who claim we have none. Not at Kouta. The succession plan is a worry, but I listed it a while back before the Thorton thread started that Thornton is probably the only other possibily post Kouta or maybe Waite in a few years.

No...i understood your post. Never thought that you were having a dig at Kouta. Was just bringing up the point of who will take over his posistion when he retires?

Positives??????

Comon guys, you'd be digging real deep to come up with many from todays performance.

Kouta is the only man that could walk off the ground today with his head held high.

And Walker????????? you must be kidding. The kid stuffed up over half of everything he was in... what game where u watching. Andrew Walker may become a star ... but for the moment he is out of his depth playing senior football. He needs learn the game at VFL level better.

We finally close the chapter to the glorious past and enter a brave new world...

Carrazzo running out of the backline, the only bloke there who has the balls and pace to take on his man and run to create the loose man.

Livo has to come back in next week and this may relieve pressure on the backline in terms of match-ups.

Nick Stevens spitting the dummy and slamming the ball into the ground after the final siren, showed me that the loss hurt him as well as the 30,000 members at the game.

Seeing hiw popular Eddie Betts was in the tent that should be in the Guiness Book of records after the game.
Eddie had his picture taken by just about every man and his dog in there.. and he stopped, chatted and shook everybodys hand.
I was rapt he kicked a goal at the hallowed turf.
He will be a great Carlton player and as such it was fitting that he did.

Simmo was a positive.

I didnt see Norman anywhere... not saying he wasnt.

Yeah he was at the post match as well.

A positive if you can call it that was Fevola as someone said earlier. He may have dropped his head once, but he went back and took a strong grab at full back and worked his way back up forward.

Didn't stop presenting to shithouse delivery.

But more than anything he in particular looked to really be hurting after the game. He loves this club and I really believe he will sign. He clapped the fans as he went of the ground which not many did, he wears his heart on his sleeve and he really seemed to care about the loss yesterday.

Compare it to a few years back when he literally couldn't give a rats.

Fevola has the potential of being a leader...
He is part of the way there .. but he is charismatic and he is a genuine talent and he does love the club and shows it.
He just needs to get mentally tougher and he can be a huger asset than he is at the moment.

On the way the game was played for 3 quarters, yes you should have been 100 points up & that only proves that Melbourne are pretenders, we know we have problems, we know we have a long way to go.

But you Melbourne flower have delusions of granduer, if I were you I wouldn't be over here hanging shit, I would be sitting in my Range Rover wondering why such a great side got their asses flogged by Hawthorn last week & why they allowed a ordinary side to get within 18 points after being 57 points up at 3/4 time. I bet your little corduroy ass started to close when we got to within 4 goals with 10 minutes to go.

Now why don't you crawl back into whatever hole you crawled out of and put your misplaced arrogance on hold untill you have something to be arrogant about, fool.

Of course we could have won. Then the 2nd quarter started....

My point was, all things being equal, and WHEN we play the way I know we can, we can match it with any team going around.....unfortunately, we haven't shown that this season.
Or are you going to tell me that the Dees really weren't trying in the WC match, that you had amssive injuries, you were trying out new tactics, The rules are different so the game has to be approached differently?

No. We beat you on merit that day, which seemed oh so long ago now.... A lot of things which SHOULD have happened yesterday didn't.

I just thought of another positive: At least we didn't end up with Umpire Goldsphincter for the last PP match....

i'd rather be a 'pretender' than a has been who will be battling it out with the filth and the scum for the prize of LAST on the ladder...

Lap it up bozo... it must be great for you to be on top of a few teams for a change. What, with all that recent success and all those premierships...

Mate, as a Dees fan, you've got nothing but yesterday on us!

ps Still asking for contributions from fans to pay your players?

The reason you didn't go on with is because you ARE pretenders & when you get put under real pressure you fold up.

If you are going to accuse this pickle head of living the Elliott dream, get your facts right, if you think that the Elliott presidency was our most successful era you are sadly mistaken, since 1965 Carlton have won 8 premierships under 5 different presidents, we won 2 under Elliott, do the math idiot.

How many premierships have the mighty Dees won in that period?

No don't phone a friend I will give you the answer.

NONE!!!!

Also in this in period of time the loyal members of the Melbourne Football Club voted to Merge with Hawthorn.

If it wasn't for a Hawthorn bloke by the name of Don Scott you wouldn't have a football team to be pissing on about, you would have rolled over & copped it up the ass like you are good at.

By the way did diamond Joe come good with the money that he still owes the club?

Seeing that you like to throw numbers around ie: 6-3 to 2.5-6.5, here's a few numbers for you to get your little head around,

Head to head Carlton v Melbourne

Wins Carlton 107 Melbourne 86 2 draws

Finals apperances Carlton 64 Melbourne 36

Premierships Carlton 16 Melbourne 12

Wooden Spoons Carlton 1 Melbourne 9

Overall Stats:

Games played: Carlton 2186 Wins 1316 Losses 839 Draws 31

Games played: Melbourne 2094 Wins 982 Losses 1094 Draws 18

Nice set of numbers aren't they?

So as I said earlier crawl back under your rock you impetious little upstart & come back to annoy me with your arrogance when you actually have something to be arrogant about.
