The idea is right, but surely it could have been more diplomatically worded.

Just watched the youtube clip...

It's so funny...

Gibbs looks back to see Fev take out Didak and keeps walking, probably think 'there goes Fev again'... and when the Pies players get into Fev, Gibbs decides he better make an appearance... tries to get to the edge of the fray, only to get steamrolled into the middle of it by a bunch of our guys jumpin' in...

Oh well, good on you Gibbsy - first in to help out Fev.

Too bad we dont have a Rhys Jones in the team.

But then again, would Rhys survive in todays incredibly scrutinised game?

Who would I rather face in a dark alley? Barry Hall.

Ditterich was downright wild...

At least you get to face him. Rather than being sniped from behind a la Alastair Clarkson.

Barry doesn't hurt anyone anymore. If you want to hurt someone to protect the kids, you get Ditterich.

Bugger em all, i'd take Lazar Vidovic anyday, he was just about there craziest footballer there was.

Funnily enough Barry Hall, Carl Ditterich and Lazar all cam from St.Kilda in some way. So what does that tell us

When was the last time you saw a Sydney kid getting bashed around, just having Hall there is a deterrent. Ala Jonathon Brown.

Seeing as Lazar retired when you were 3 years old, agro jr, I'd say he must've made quite an impression on you.

When Ditterich was around, you didn't worry about the ball, you worried about Ditterich.

In terms of hurting people, i reckon Big Carl would have done more damage than Hall - but you are right in that nobody touches Sydney's kids when Hall's around.

You've missed my point I think in that I think a big presence is great. I was merely arguing that the way Ditterich went around whacking people meant when he connected, it hurt, probably more so than Hall.

He would have got suspended every second week too mate, intimidation is different these days. Hall and Brown are expert at it. Stand in the hole in front of them at your peril. And with Hall you still get the bonus of...60+ goals!!!! Dream...Fev and Hall in the same team!!!!

He was only 2 years old, but he can almost recite the entire commentary of the 1995 Grand Final word for word (especially some of Robbo's dazzling repartee). 8)

Also "Biffs, Bumps and Brawlers" DVD (1 & 2) has a lot to answer for as well.
