I reckon up to 6 coaches will move on next year, and maybe 1 or 2 stay in the system, so around 2- 4 new coaches will come on.
We need to do a deal early.
Don't disagree with the analysis, but it was the get the signature early philosophy that that bit us on the arse when we re-signed Pagan.
I think we actually have some currency for a potential coach. We are not the club we were 6 months ago, possible attractions to a coach are:
- A young list that will improve with experience and with bigger bodies as they physically mature
- A proven CEO in charge to move the club in the right direction
- The third richest man in Australia as President, who will support the development of the club
- Some more relatively early draft picks this year
- Not too many retirements in the next five seasons relative to other clubs, and not that will substantially hurt the list
- A history of success
Looking at it dispassionately, of the bottom teams, we are probably one of the most attractive teams to coach in the medium term. I think we might be able to use that to attract the coach that we want, and not have to jump the gun in the first half of the season.
