apologies to anyone who said it in the last 4 pages of this thread, but i didnt check back properly...but how is someone meant to eat a pie at the footy on Good Friday?

not to mention that legally, most places stay closed until mid-day on Good Friday, it'd be easier i think to hold the match at night rather than during the day.

or is it just me being the christian traditionalist im thinking this way?

Nic

I think half of melbourne eats meat on Good Friday.Thats not the issue.

It would be a night match presumably as its a TV event. Do you expect Car-Haw to get 90000 fans at the ground?

As it is a Friday match, that should kill the Good Friday Appeal from getting the airtime it has had for the past few decades on Ch 7.

Done properly, it would enhance the appeal.

I think the appeal has worked extremely well for a very long time that its 'appeal' does not appear to be waning based on the generosity of Victorians.

So you think the appeal has peaked?

Couldn't be improved in any way, shape or form?

Couldn't use a well promoted sporting event to raise even more money?

Last night on TFS their superstar sleuth reporter was throwing around this week's scoops and he suggested that Us and the Dawks were lobbying the AFL for a Blockbuster game on Good Friday!! Worst rumour in history or some credibility and chance to succeeed. Definately a good idea.

Anybody heard anything??
