Check out the venoumous attack on Carlton in today sHerald Sun from Trev. It's an absolute disgrace that I dont think is funny for anyone.

What is up his arse about Carlton?

Optus dials up great moments
20 May 2005 Herald Sun

THE BIG send-off for Princes Park/Optus Oval occurs this week. Of course it is Melbourne's last bastion of suburban football, which is a shame in one way, but excuse me if I don't become all misty-eyed and sentimental.
ilm

It seems as if everyone is having a crack at compiling their top 10 moments, so rather than appear unfashionable, here's my humble offering.

1. Blighty's goal to beat Carlton after the siren. His third goal in the time-on period of the final quarter.

2. Ross Glendinning's goal to beat Carlton after the siren.

3. Big Mick Nolan cleans up Mark Maclure.

4. Sam Kekovich irons out three Carlton players in one passage of play.

5. St Kilda defeats Fremantle to guarantee Carlton the wooden spoon.

6. Russell Gilbert's goal in the E. J. Whitten Legends game.

7. Umpires escorted from the ground by police on horseback to protect them from the seething mob.

8. Carlton loses its priority picks for cheating on the salary cap.

9. Carlton announces it is in debt to the tune of $16 million.

10. North Melbourne decides not to move its home base and training facilities to Optus Oval.

Would like to have included Optus Oval closes, but it hasn't actually happened yet.

But why stop there? While we are at it, let's pay tribute to the duffle coat, high-cut boots, hand-knitted scarfs, the lace-up guernsey, chewing gum in footy cards, steak and eggs, the dew kickers, tight shorts, the squirrel grip, the thermos, the Esky, the dunny-roll streamer, the Bluebirds, that guy who used to sell the peanuts, the Elliott Stand, the cigarette at halftime and the can of Vic Bitter in the dressingrooms straight after the game.

By the way, is there any word on when the Arden St tribute is due to take place?

I think you might be over reacting there EB. The last para has a hint of genuine sentimentality about it, the top 10 a reminder that really, most AFL fans gave up caring about Princes Park a very long time ago.

We'll enjoy, savour and cherish this weekend for years to come, for we are Carlton, who really cares if noone else does?

Including as a highlite that Carlton announced a record debt, won a spoon etc is poison, at a time that we are celebrating our home ground is just really poor for, I thought more of Trevor than this.

By the way any one else noticed how much Trevor looks like Lisa Simpson?

C'mon EB, Trev's paid to take the piss out of all the clubs...

Remember him getting stuck into the Kangaroos a few years back after all the free work he had done for them?

It's just swings and roundabouts...

Why would you think that? Trevor marmalade is nothing more than a failed Hey hey it's Saturday comic. Daryl Somers was funnier than him, and that's saying something. Cheap kicks and attempts at laughs are all he has left now.

It does just reek of bitterness. But at the end of the day who cares, lets love tommorrow! I'll be there in the legends stand smack on the wing in the Premiership Club. And boy am I gonna get pissed!

It was just Trev being unfunny as usual but 8 and 9 were pretty tasteless

Jason Van De Velde isn't as funny as he thinks he is, from his stupid stage name to his thought-up-an-hour-before-the-show Footy Show cracks.

Agreed. I don't give that guy the time of day anymore. He is just not that funny. Who watches TFS anyway? :?

Why?

If it wasnt for Eddie and Sam's loyalty he would be a bum picking up used butts and betslips at racecourses

if he is allowed to take th piss out of other Clubs, as he certainly does, he can certainly do the same to us.

He did hang shit on Eddie and Collingwood all through TFS last night.
