The CSC site has some info on Murphy's father being upset at Bakers actions and the lack of response from the coaching box, I believe he wanted to go to the media but was talked out of it.

No point whinging about it...its part of footy, get some players who can deal with Baker....its been the same story for years.
We are considered a weak team physically and clubs will exploit us in that area until we get some players who will stand up and be counted....Fev's the only one who really gives it back with interest....

The kid must be protected by not only our coach but our senior players.
Baker should have been given a good hip and shoulder (legally by Waite running in off the square) and a statement should have been made last week. We didn't and let him take 3 of our kids out and no-one stood up to the little flea.

Smarten up CFC it's not just about drafting top1 picks.

Had Baker treated an Adelaide youngster the same way he treated Murphy, Ricciuto would have buried him into the turf at the next contest. We lack that sort of senior protection of our young players, and have for several seasons.

Would have run from the coaches box, all the way through the stands, and out on to the field to do it?

This is 1 area that infuriates me when it comes to our senior players and has for years. I really, really hoped Waite, Cloke and to a certain extent Fev took it upon themselves to throw some weight about this year and help the Simo's, Murphy's, Russell's and Gibbs's. But I still don't see it. You don't have to do it illegally either, just let the oppositon Baker's  know that we won't accept their crap with good hip and shoulders any time they are around their area!

We have been the softest team in the AFL for 5 years.

That is why Fev keeps getting reported.

He is our only enforcer....Santa is starting to chip in...but where is the love?

Remember the days when Diesel....Rhys and Brown...even Hicky drilled opposition players every game.

It is UN-Carlton to be soft.

I hope this will change but I cant see any of the current playing group being an enforcer (other Santa and Fev).

Please god...send us the hardet nut on earth.

WAITE! When he started he used ot throw his body around, and although we where worried he might have a brain explosion, better that, then drumming it out of him completely. He must learn to use it intelligently and Pagan must start to enforce it on him and others mentioned.

Not all players have this quality but the one's that do should be used to our advantage and wisely by our team.

If you have Fev or someone bump an opposition tagger hard he will probably get weeks the way the tribunal has been recently. And we all know if Fev gets weeks we are up sh*t creek without a paddle

Having said that i would have loved someone to nail Baker, he is fast becoming up there with Holland and Didak in my most hated players. Dirty player and needs to be belted

Thats one of the big targets we need seasons end to get a mature Mid ie a Brock maclean type... we have a strong emerging talented young list we need to also develop that and to some extent help them especially from scum like Baker who tends to enjoy picking on far more talented youngsters

A couple of years ago we had the opportunity to walk Byron Pickett in through the psd... i dont even remember who we snagged...People talk about Lance and Kouta being leaders.. well part of being leaders is to act like a leader...

Whether these blokes are in the side makes no difference to whats going on in the park in terms of steel... the difference is theyre slow... and dont get to the contests.Which impacts greatly on the the rest of the team.

Its all about list management... its been shithouse management and that doesnt get rectified cos you have a couple of blokes with their best way behind them in the side.
It makes things worse.
Last year pre season Fev was trying to rough up Edwards and Edwards as a first year player wouldnt have a bar of it.. Fev got abit back....

Thats the kind of player we need in the side instead of a Kouta or a Lance who are giving you nothing!!!..

I agree with Synbad.

The "salary cap" excuse is getting old.

Scotland and Fev are always the ones to remonstrate.

Fev would run from the other end of the ground to deal with anyone who hit Murph or any of the younger boys.

I hoped Cam Cloke would have been an enforcer type, but alas no.

I'd love to see how Setanta would react if Aisake gets a bit of treatment when he plays seniors.

Fev hasnt done it the last 3 weeks while Murph has been slaughtered. Would love to have Steve Baker in my side. None of our guys are tough, even Fev doesnt ever hit anyone, or intimidate them. Jonathon Brown or Barry Hall are the types that make the little blokes stand taller. Just having them around sends a warning, Fev, Waite, Whitnall, O'Hailpin...all powder puffs.

He's already up there with me. Hate everything about him (as a player), the way he walks, his annoyingly proportioned body, when he kicks or assists goals, that yobbo haircut, I hate it all.

Ah Synbad, is there any topic we can come up with that doesn't end up with Kouta and Lance bashing, and I can't believe you want Pickett in the PSD. He has had a half reasonable season with Melbourne and will be finished at the end of this year. Wouldn't he just be taking the place of a 'kid'.

We need to draft someone who has some nastiness. Be very happy if we had snagged a Beau Waters; Campbell Brown; Steve Baker.

Much as everyone hates Baker. I would like someone like that in our side. You can't manufacture nastiness. Wiggo is very tough and courageous, and lets face it we could afford to have him out suspended several times a season, but he just isn't nasty.
