" As god is my witness, I will strike any Carlton fan who even attempts to communicate with me or my family. My misses hates them too. She had a pie thrown at her head by a female Carlton fan during a lawn bowls comp last year, all becuase my misses had a Collingwood stubbie holder."

priceless !

I just cant wait to get to the game and cop some more racial-fueled abuse. Without fail it happens every game. Such a cultured lot...

Shouldn't that say 'drown' not 'down'?

Clearly spelling and grammar school wasn't part of the schedule in Pentridge.

This is flower hilarious.
I think Collingwood Supporters are having an collective inferiority complex actually because whilst we detest Essendon* with a passion, our hatred of Collingwood has waned over the years 'cause they have been spectacularly unsuccessful over 50 years.
A sad bunch of also-rans that really don't put up much of a fight when it all comes down to it.

This bit in particular gets me laughing.

Quote:
Do the names Harmes, The Buzz, Johnston, McClure, Doull, Wow, Ashman, etc mean anything to this generation? They ought to: I believe we are owed a flag? I was there

What a great list of names to be sickened by. So glad they all played for us.

Who did they have at the same time. Worthington, McCormack, Picken, Wearmouth, Banks and of course the Shaw boys. Oh.. and of course.. Wes Fellowes. Makes me piss myself laughing.

Even Microsoft has it right.

This appeals to my stupid sense of humour but in doing the previews for the
Footytalk Podcast, I have discovered that even Word identifies both Collingwood and Essendon* as 'ERRORS". Yet Carlton is a fair dinkum word. How funny is that?

I actually enjoyed reading that thread

Good to see the rivalry's still strong, despite how shit we've been of late.

And I loved the bloke whose shining memory of GF day 1970 was his mum hitting a Carlton supporter with a thermos

Crikey! I think I need to open a lobotomy clinic in Victoria St. I think the poor bastards are like that because they have lost more grand finals than anybody else has even played in. Chokers of the first order. All we need to do is hold up signs with:

1970
1979
1981

I remember a game I went to in the late eighties. We lost. The Collingwood fams were giving it to us something cronic even before we left the ground. I heard someone near me say loudly and pointedly to his kid,
"When a young Collingwood fan asks his dad what it is like to win a grand final, he has to say, 'I don't know, son, ask your granddad'."

That shut the bastards up but the train trip home was a bit awful just the same.

That's a great thread.

This is what footy is all about - territorial battles proudly fought on an autumn Saturday afternoon.

This is proper rivalry - not AFL forced bullshit.

Kinda raising the bar a bit I know, but I liked Eddie's press conference announcing the appointment of Gary Pert as the Pies new CEO ... when he was going on about how much he loves 9 and Collingwood and blabbing away I thought I was going to puke. Also thought he was putting just a few tickets on himself when he said he'd been the face of the Nine Network for the last 15 years.
