Spot on Agro!

The way the rule is now, if we were to finish 2nd last and qualify for a priority pick we would have selection 1 & 3 in the draft.

Pick 1 - priority pick
Pick 3 - 1st round

And if whoever finishes last doesn't like it they can get flowered because no-one was putting their hand up in the name of justice when Carlton had a warranted claim on a pre-draft priority pick last year.

We had 2 last place finishes in a row, one year with 4.5 wins, the next 3.5. If ever there was a side that warranted a pre-draft PP it was us last year but the other clubs were happy to see us miss out after the club made 4 submissions on the unfairness of the rule change.

They were all happy to see us miss out, but if the situation mentioned above comes to fruition then dont try and flower us again!

Surrey and others you have to get with the program.

Form Fours dont exist anymore - you can't just go out and sign up Bradley, Kernahan, Motley, Dorotich anymore on Form Fours for a quick fix.

Unfortunately whether you like it or not (and I dont like it) we have a draft to recruit players - and all the quality players come through it as 17/18 year olds - it is very rare for these youngsters to slip through the system to be able to recruit them from the WAFL, SANFL or VFL as mature age and bodied 21/22 year olds.

National Draft - say it again National Draft - best picks are in the first half dozen - we have a chance of picking 2 of these players this year without having to trade. We may not get the chance again.

McLaren has done his PCL apparently, Edwards a possible broken ankle/foot and Teague a broken wrist.

Fisher trained well today. Important inclusion.

Big shame about Edwards, who started well before going down yesterday, from all accounts.

Possibly just a corky for T-Bird and Kouta should be right to play.

His fitness would be shot though, wouldn't it?

Fish and Kouta could pretty much continue with fitness and even most of the weight work. But with a fractured collarbone, he would have been restricted to stationary bike work, wouldn't he?

Would he have much chance of gaining promotion within 6 matches of his return to full training (i.e some time in the 2nd half of the year)?
