Not to mention the red wine that goes very nicely with the spaghetti. :(

Notice how "strip" has crept into our footy language.....it was just a Rugby and Soccer term once....I still prefer jumper.....footy jumper.

dont like this idea much at all - have seen some great champions in the navy blue -some elmer fudds -have been screaming out for the side wearing the navy blue and white for umpteen years whether they be good bad or diabolical -just another bit of tradition dies on friday night -
Next we will be changing the theme song -not terribly apt this week anyway I SUPPOSE this week
In any case dont see how the navy blue clashes with Aints -so is really pr spin
IM STILL GOING on friday BUT I DONT HAVE TO LIKE IT

There not much of a jumper anymore. With the different materials there using.

Well said Frank.

Change for the sake of change, novelty, and money making.

I don't like McGuire; but I admire his stand on the jumper.

I'll only be listening on the radio so there won't be a clash at all. Nor will I be offended by the sight of it until Blue Beatle sends me the DVD and it arrives next month. I'll be over it by then in any case. Besides, it isn't as if we've always worn the navy blue with the logo. I like the heritage jumper with the yellow as well. Pity they cost so much. Carlton heritage jumpers cost more then the others because they can't be bought from MSD like the others, only through the shop. But that's another thread altogether.

Well no-one can agree on what the words to our club song actually are anyway, so it's a moot point.

PS: It's up.

Speaking of which..............................

What is happening with Collingwood & it's stand on the jumpers? If they don't come up with one and the AFL does nothing then i'm seriously gonna be upset.

Clubs like Carlton & Essendon*, who have had the same jumper (albeit with a few minor differences) for well over 100 years are forced to change yet the AFL turn a blind eye to Collingwood? What a crock..........

I too admire Eddie for his stand-off, i think he has good reason cause this whole 'must have an alternative strip' things is a waste of time in my opinion, but the AFL cannot just let Collingwood get away with it.

It's bad enough they're allowed to display the Austrlian Flag on the logo.

You'd have to think that if it were Carlton that were refusing to come up with an alternative strip the AFL would have fined us by now (and probably striped us of draft picks too! :x )

I hate the AFL!

Totally agree Warby,

Strip -Jumper, Guernsey
Running the lines- Attacking football
Conversion- Kicking a goal
Kicking for touch-Boundary line
Catch -Mark
Mid fielders- Centre man, Wing men, Ruck rover, etc.

Watching CH10 news recently a sports reporter referred to the footy ground as a PITCH.
Is that the next thing that will change?
It's an Australian game, not some negative English concoction
We haven't needed, nor do we need rugby and soccer terms.

Let's get rid of the myth that Eddie has protected the Collingwood guernsey!!

Collingwood have made more changes to their guernsey than Carlton have. Just check out this page for proof.
http://www.bomberblitz.com/~rmered/collingwoodhome.htm

Several changes have been made since Eddie has been at the helm, and I would argue the changes he has made have been the most radical in the club's history.

McChins "stance" on the alternate guernsey is hipocracy of the highest order.

The guernsey the filth wear now is the inverse of the guernsey they used to wear.

Their original guernsey, and the one they have worn for the vast majority of their history, was white with black stripes.

They now wear a black guernsey with white stripes.

Perhaps they're trying to look more like Port Adelaide's SANFL guernsey, thus stopping Port from wearing it.

Edit: Beat me to it Jars. That'll teach me to try to post and work at the same time.

Not to mention this one that they've used as a clash strip.
