We set a target of 32,000 for example but what is the actual budget break down by membership class?

How many Social club members, Silver, Gold, etc are we budgeting for?

We may have 5,000 social club members who spend $600 plus on memberships compared to Collingwood who may only have 3,000 thus making our 32,000 better than their 37,000.

Would really like to see not only our breakdown but also other clubs.

Pies have over 10,000 premium members therefore they are the only Vic club where no standard membership holders get a GF ticket.

Happy to announce that I just bought on behalf of my mate a Social Club Gold membership for $534.

I did want to get him the Social Premium for $600 but the reserved seating in this section was down the back of level 2 at the dome where as the Gold was level 1 so the guy at the membership department said its better if I went for the Gold.

First time member that I hope continues to buy a membership.

Just got a text from the club reminding me to renew my nephew and neices membership.

In short it says:

"We are 1,461 Members short of our record of 33,534...blah, blah, blah".

Do the sums kiddies, that's 32,073!

32K

WOW, great effort by the Blue Army! 8)

My Brother's Silver Interstate membership was renewed yesterday.

That's another to the tally.

A few more wins in the next few weeks should keep the talley rising... a thrashing or 2 will bring everything to a grinding halt, and we dont want that to happen do we

32,021 as at today.

Outstanding effort for Blues fans, but still room on the rollercoaster...

Good evening TC'ers. Apologies for the time since last post.

The fact we have passed the 32,000 mark in membership is extraordinary considering where we were back in December. I would have thought with all of the board stoushes, elections, bad press, we would have been lucky to have exceeded 25,000. Just goes to show that with a bit of confidence, the Blue Army is made of stern stuff!

All of your suggestions have been passed on Mark and I and with our new CEO having been on board for only a few weeks, it will take some time to come to grips with all that has happened.

One of the real benefits of Greg Swann joining the Club is the fact that he can at least benchmark where we are compared with that other club!

I have raised the issue of the 10/20 year membership option with Greg and frankly, it ios now too late to consider this year. He has had some experience with such a proposal for "life" membership at Collingwood and no doubt, this will be discussed as we plan for 2008 during this year.

One thing that please me most, and is a real demonstration of the true heart of Carlton people is the fact we have raised nearly $3m in three months! Yes, Dick's generosity has played a significant role, but we have increased the number of sponsors and hospitality corporates significantly.

Needless to say, things are looking up at MC Labour Park, and we have been able to invest in new staff to start to put some meat back on the bones that were remaining in 2006. Most of the investment to date has been in the football department, but the recruitment of Anthony Barham in sales/sponsorship is a coup (he used to be the key man at Collingwood) and the intention of further bolstering the marketing department resources augurs well for the future.

As for the playing stocks, lets hope we have a win tomorrow night. We are still 2 to 3 years away from being a side that can compete with the best consistently but you never know in this competition with a winning attitude and confidence, how quicky success can come.

A large number of board members have endured a tough 3 months or so. We spend about a day to a day and a half per week at or on the Club and as we all have full time jobs, this has placed considerable strain on us.

However, we do this because we love this Club and nothing is more gratifying than seeing the positive improvement we have seen.

You are the most important stakeholders we have. I want to thank all TC members for supporting us through this transition. Your passion, enthusiasm and genuine love for the Club are inspiration for us all!!

Carn you Blue Boys!

Cheers

Stephen M

Thanks Stephen, it's great to hear the enthusiasm and obvious improvement in morale that have permeated the club since the new board took control. Keep up the good work off the field, the kids will make it happen on the field and we will be back to where we all know we belong, singing the song at 5.30pm on the last Saturday in September.

Good on you Stephen, thanks for the very encouraging update. Great news about Anthony Barham as well. :-D

And nice to hear that Mr Swann is settling in.

Thanks Stephen! You're enthusiasm and sincerity are very much appreciated and it gives a passionate Blueboy like myself great heart and encouragement that we are getting there and that things are improving. Keep up the good work! :P

Thanks Stephen, left me wanting a big group hug hahaha...

I'm widely criticised by mates for being too much of an optimist, but at least now i have a reason to be, with the morale so high at the club (well except for the Whitnall and Pagan haters who cant look at the positives but each to their own i guess)

Great that Stephen can come on the TC site and inform us of what is happening at the club. Communication to members is important and we should be thankful that people of Stephen's position at the club can mix it with us.

Thanks Stephen!

32,000 thus far, given what has happened in the past, what is a realistic target now? Can we break the record or is it looking unlikely?

Touch and go.

I responded to the SMS request yesterday and got a lovely Bombers supporting girl call me back to sign me up today.

She said she'd signed up about $6k worth in the last two days. Let me try the maths:

$6k divided by Silver membership of say $108? = another 50 odd supporters. Not sure how many were doing the phones but let's say there's five of 'em. that's 250 members added to your total.

Sweet

60 in 3days...just over one hundred per week by that rate. Possibly slowing down, the good showing against the saints possibly helped, but i do believe if you havent gotten it by now that not many will sign up in the near future.
