Hartlett would be playing seniors if I was coaching as would Bower.
Bower impressed me a lot last season and i cant work out why he is still in the Bullants. He is a good size, mobile and as he showed in his senior games last season he is a very brave player who will put the body on the line....
Hartlett isnt as intense as JK and probably doesnt do the 1%ers like JK but I saw enough of him in the NAB cup to show he has some ability...he is strong, stands his ground well and is a thumping kick. He could be a real weapon up forward if we could get the coach and football dept to get some structure into the forward line and let some players develop in set positions.
Some players just dont develop in the reserves they need senior footy to get the best out of them....
Blackwell is another who has shown he can play.....cant figure out why he cant get a game either ..did well in some senior games last year .
Edwards appears a perfect modern age footballer..nice size, mobile, strong mark and attacks the footy well..along with Bower its these size players with agility we should be fastracking...
Good stuff Elwood................i actually watch a heap of VFL and local footy.Id take it even further than that Elwood and say that some fellas go sour and go backwards. And if Bower,Blackwell and Hartlett dont get a senior gig soon they will go into a downward spiral.Hartlet will never dominate in the magoos. Why ? coz some blokes just dont.Dont know why,it just happens. And as Agro suggests, some just blossom when given an oppurtunity on the big stage.
Hey guys,if it was all about ripping it up in the magoos, then
Bannister,Teague and even Digby would be walk up starts in the ones.
Wayne Hughes recruited these guys coz he thought they were AFL players.Come on Denis, show some faith in the recruitment guys.
