Yes! I should have also pointed out that I'm more than happy for Andrew to re-sign aswell but the whole Pagan contract thingy if not sorted out soon will cause me some sleepless nights.

Agree, Walker should stay.

Brett Ratten would have been lucky to play 20 games for the Blues if some people had their say.

Look at guys like Sporn, Prenda and T-bird who all had pretty average starts to their career. All three should play at least 100 games for the club, I reckon at least one will rack 250+ as well.

Kids need time, time that used to given in the reserves, a la Bruce Doull, these days they're expected to perform from the day the put on the jumper on draft day. That just doesn't happen.

Have a look at Jarrad Waite in 2005, that's Andrew Walker in 2006. Have a look at Kouta from 99-01 ... that's Waite and Walker in 2008-2010.

Heckled by the President because they're walking out on the club. Can't believe people want to pin that one on Jack. He didn't help the situation, but I'm glad he treated a piece of garbage exactly like that.

Thew give the kid a break!!!

IMO he has shown more than Cooney and will be a far better player than him. Cooney was supposedly the no 1 pick wasn't he? What a crock!!

He is only 18, and is still learning the game. He as the potential to become a superstar, so lets harness that potential and see what happens...

If you were an average player who earned $250,000 a year were suddenly offered a $500,000 a year four year contract at another you would surely consider it. And then just as discussions were under way to keep the guy at Carlton Jack decided to heckle him in front of a crowd. Jack didn't heckle him after the deal was done TruBlueBrad, let's not revise history just because we all hate Hamill.

You have got to be kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Cooney has shown some great performances, the kid has the package and will be a star, doesnt mean Walker wont, but to say Cooney has been dissapointing is wrong.

OK perhaps my assessment was through very BLUE glasses, so I will rephrase my comment: Cooney has been good but Walker will be better :D

Maybe too much emphasis is being placed on Walker. As a fellow frustrated supported who is not use to missing finals action, are the expectations too high for such a young boy?

Walker can play, but IMO he still gets lost sometimes out on the field. The old saying that you can't put an old head on young shoulders may ring true in this instance. Did his great debut effort hinder his short term development? I don't know

Watched him play a couple of games with the Bullants & was impressed with his kicking (both sides of the body). Bit more pressure & a little less time in the ones though.

I expect that he will really find his feet in the second half of the year, & once he does, he will be a nightmare to match up on

The kid is 18 - sheesh people, give him a break. Walker will be a star. No doubt about it.

Yeah. I agree strangeblue. The signs are there. Will be watching AW's progress with interest.

Parko says you are wrong Andain. hamill had given the club a stat dec saying he would go to the swans unless we traded him. hamill is not one to pin on Jack. Agree therefore that we should not be too quick to "revise history".

I still don't see how I'm wrong. Yeah sure I can see that happening, but that was probably after Jack had a go at Hamill which practically forced the guy to leave. It was only then that he started making threats about going to Sydney.

Walker was the youngest player in the AFL to debut last year and was phenomenal as a 17 year old.He will eventually be a champion player if last season was any indication but lets let him develop over the next few years and not put too much pressure on him.

Andain all of Parkin Silvagni and Brittain hardly Fat Jacks supporters do not support the hamill view but in fact support Jacks .Why would any of them support Elliots view if it wasnt true given they loathe the guy.

Andain you are wrong because hamill had already given the club the stat dec about Sydney before Jack made his speech. hamill was already effectively out the door, but still does not seem to mind milking the 'It was not the money - Jack made me cry so I left' line. For whatever you think about Jack, I reckon that is a grossly unfair mistruth, hamill had gone and the Jack story was a convenient distraction for the bags of cash he left for. I don't begrudge him leaving for money, I do resent that he cites something that clearly was irrelevant to his decision and that this now seems to be accepted by most. Don't forget it was Jack that went in to bat on the appeal to get hamill to play in the 99GF.

Ok I'm wrong. I'm not going to argue against Parkin, Brittan and Silvagni. They were there after all.
