I was a big Karl fan but agree he doesn't seem to understand what's within his grasp

Surprised by all the negative posts re. Karl. He hasn’t had a good start to the year (he’s not alone there) but has lots of talent. He had some great games in the middle of last year. He cleaned up Tarant, played a great game against Adelaide with some stints in the midfield, cleaned up Richo and induced multiple dummy spits. Unfortunately injured his hand which ended his season early. Karl has height (194-195cm) and serious pace – remember him running down the Dee’s Wheatly in the Wizard cup. Lots of skill and a booming kick. Not sure how much impact his back injury’s having on his form, but if the Blues had a fully fit Thornton, Livo and Karl in the backline, I’m sure we would have won much more than 2 ½ games so far.

Yes!

He's a talented headcase.

We don't want headcase's at the club, but we can't afford to give up on talent.

Sort his head out and we're fine....maybe we can't, but its worth the risk to keep the talent.

Couldn't agree more.
Karl put his undenyable talent on display last year and was superb week in, week out. Granted, he has had a very ordinary and troubled start to the year. He seems to have lost confidence in himself and consequently, the confidence of his coach.
However, this is not sufficient reason to throw him out. Nor is the constant speculation into his private life - another possible reason for his poor form. Give the kid a chance to prove himself again. Give him some support and hopefully he will repay it.

I said 'No'.

Believe it or not, a few clubs were interested him during trade week last year. Hopefully, we can trade him for a 3rd rounder or player.

Either way, I think he'll be traded or delisted.

No - he hasn't been picked for games where we have clearly needed height in defence. Smaller players have been preferred and O'Hailpin got a game got a game ahead of him (no disrespect to O'hailpin intended). Seems to me that the writing is on the wall.

Its really sad, but he doesent seem to understand the massive opportunity he has.

I said "yes".
I am giving hin the benefit of the doubt that he does have a nagging injury. (all footballs always carry injuries, some stop you playing the way you want to).

I also think he is just too talented to discard so soon.

Karl plaeyd with a back injury for the first couple of weeks, hence the reason he wasnt spoiling like his usual self.
Apparently because of the first couple of rounds his back became worse and thats why they havent played him in the firsts because he is restriced.

In fact he has had the lumbar injury since early January. As he said to Domenic and myself at the Guernsey Sponsor's dinner, "I shouldn't have been playing". He was clearly finding it frustrating. As anyone who has had a lumbar injury would know, it is very difficult to punch while jumping (as in volleyball spiking, footy spoiling etc) when you have such an injury.

My guess is he will probably stay on the list.

voted yes....

Theres enough talent there to persevere...even if he turns things around at 24 or 25 he can still be a good player for us....of coarse if he continues to go backwards we can always trade him...but have a feeling that could come back to haunt us...just a matter of finding the right motivation
