well this week being a home game they should sign up enough to break the 32,000 sometime this week if the boys win on the weekend, which is possibility. Being 3-2 means we've ALREADY beaten last years efforts and it'd be the very first hurdle of our steeplechase road to glory completed.

I think we would have cracked 35,000 definately had we not lost so badly aginst the Cats and Eagles. People are not sure if its going to be like last year.

Having said that still a solid effort

Havig said that still a solid coming re effort

I think you are underestimating the result so far. If you consider the teams performances over the last few seasons, getting anywhere near 30K in membership this season is an awesome effort. Also, the fact that the membership nos have continued to increase despite the losses you mentioned shows the faithful and even new supporters are showing their support for the club.[/i]

Can you still do the pay-by-the-month thing>?

I'd be willing to buy another membership if you could.

Take a bow every single supporter/member. What a fantastic effort it's been over the worst 5 years of our history.

904 new members in the six days between the 19/4 and the 24/4. That's a little over 150 new members a day. Phenomenal effort considering there was an interstate match (in which we got spanked) in the middle of that.

From this date in 2003 we added a bit over 2900 and from this date in 2005 we added a bit over 2100.

So still more to come.

Split the difference and say we pick up about another 2500 members and we'll hit close to 34,000.

Hope we get to 34 000, that would be an amazing effort. Does anyone know where you can view a membership ladder? I'm interested to see how many members we have compared with the other clubs.

There is a CFC ad in the Herald Sun today that says the club needs 1926 members to break their previous membership record.

C'mon anyone who has yet to sign up.

cfc website today 27th April:

2007 Carlton Membership Tally
Target – 35,000
Carlton Membership Record – 33,534
Current – 31,609

Increase of 173 over 3 days so based on Jarusa's target of 53 per day, we are still on target

It seems the club is putting up more regular updates which is a great idea to get those lapsed members to renew as the gap is shortened.

SIGN/RENEW NOW IF U HAVEN"T TO DATE!!!!!!!

Good to see the ad in the herald sun - shows we are proactive.

Membership looking good, over 6,000 still have not signed from last year. I think that shows you the scope we have to increase our figure to 40,000 plus with success on the field. Expect to see this in the next 3 years.

Also I was pleased to see us beat the bombers in the battle of the fans - 53% -47% Go Blues!

32K was the budgeted break even point should we achieve this - it seems this will be the case.

Every membership sold after this puts us in profit territory + increase in merchandise sales from the previous year. :-D

Suddenly our financial situation is improving many fold and will continue as the on-field improves and marketing is ramped up.

28,000 was our breakeven point for 2007. 32,000 was the revised target after a strong start to membership sales. 35,000 is the re-revised target.

So with the extra $1,000,000 in sponsorships that the directors were targeting to sell (which we were told on TC was going well) and with Dick Pratt raising just over $1,000,000 and then matching it $ for $, we should be going well. Through in the interest saving announcement as mentioned on TFS when it is eventually annouced and we are going well.

Some of these additional funds have no doubt been spent trying to drive the club forward, but expect a healthy profit at the end of the year.

steve I think 27,000 correlated to the $500,000 cash deficit that Malouf spoke of at the time, with some weakly worded promises that 32,000 should see us break even.

In a cash flow sense we also have the donations on top, with the understanding that a lot of this will be spent.

In a profit sense any rewriting of the debt can be expected to go to the bottom line.

I'm expecting us to break the 32,000 mark before this Fridays game!

Great result by the club & all involved.
