TEX.....

i think he has proven now the quality he can bring as a running ball carrier...and now with Stevens out why not play Tex on the wing or in the guts at the centre bounce....that also gives a chance to bring in another running half back like Bower...i think it will benefit the team more...

and given that Fish is out for a few weeks, now would not be a bad time!

I mentioned this in the upcoming match discussion thread.

totally agree, Walker was moved in there during the last qrt against the eagles and racked up 9 kicks and 4 clearances for the qrt.

Walker has done the apprenticeship in tagging, playing in defence and now it time to let him run and do what he wants.

Could not agree more.

Has the whole package for a ball carrying midfielder. I'm sure one of Gibbs, Bower or Anderson can slot into his HBF.

Really like the thought of Houla and Walker pushed up to the midfield and a back six of Santy, T-Bird, Waite, Scotland, Gibbs and Anderson/Bower. Wirrpunda highlighted Houla's defensive deficiencies in no uncertain terms the other day.

Agreed..

He showed in the last qtr that he has it, after getting 3 Judd like centre clearances in the last qtr...

I watched him on foxtel in the rooms after the game and he looked as upset as i've ever seen a bloke.....

I hope he realises that we are close to having a fantastic era and he is integral to it.

One thing I ask of all you guys and ofcourse Tex is that has he got the poise that is needed to play in the midfield? If he finds poise in his game this guy will have the attributes to be a very freaky player. Fingers crossed?!

More poise than the alternatives, which could still be short of the mark. You can only work with what you've got.

Stevo is better sure, but he just ain't there.

I saw that too he was very dejected after the game - also at 3 quarter time he apeared to get a lecture from Pagan that he didn't seem to happy to be getting -though it was probably just instructions that he was going into the middle - not sure ??

I hope so much we dont lose Tex he is a very very good player and is just continuing to get better - I hope we dont place too much focus on the Judd frenzy and forget we have our own Judd right here in Tex who just needs to be let off the leash.

He Provides Run off the half back, and he carries the ball and sets up many attacks... he also kicks goals......he is capable though of being a 25+ disposal getter if he is given a permanent midfield Role......

don't see any reason why we shouldn't start him in the centre, his clearance work against the best midfield in the comp was exceptional. and i think his kicking has come on this year too. imo it'd be the best thing for his development.

Walkers last 1/4 was pretty good - looked nice in the midfield. Would now like to see an extended run in there. Could be our Stevo replacement.

I always looked forward to the day where Tex is in the middle.

After the NAB and round 1 wins, I could see why we need him in the backline...to defend and close down, to win the ball and to break the lines freakishly way into the forwardline.

Stevo's out so Walker is in for mine.

I'm sorry to all the Messiah's fans, but Tex is way ahead in terms of development and ability and moreso than all our other young high picks.

I agree, any of those 3 replacements will do just fine.

Why not unleash him?

We all love attacking footy, and he's it! He can do it standing on his head.

SIGN HIM UP FFS!!!

Right now who I'd prefer to see in the 25+ centre bounces in a game:

R: Hampson 202cm ....rotating with .......202 cm Jacobs or Aisake
RR: Walker..................rotating with.........Carrazzo.
R: Murphy.................rotating with.........Blackwell
C: Bentick.................rotating with..........Russell

W: Simpson............rotating with..............Houlihan
W: Lappin...............rotating with..............Jackson

HB: Scotland and Gibbs

I'd be reluctant to move him as he is developing nicely where he is... however, there might not be much choice given the alternatives.

Without Stevo, our midfield has extractors who can't run (Bentick & Carrots). Sides like WC and Geelong slaughter us for pace. Yep, leave 1AW on the ball for the rest of the year and bring in Bower on the HBF. Time to see if Blackwell and Jackson can make it too.

We all forget that on draft day he was pictured with Kouta and we were all told he was the logical "Kouta No 2". Can run, jump, find the ball etc etc. Hell, his first game was as a midfielder!

As I recall, Kouta had the identical apprenticehip.

Commeth the hour, commeth the man.

Exactly, sign him up now!!!!

Last thing we need is soeone with that much talent, and a super high intensity to go with it, leaving the club........

We will sign up Walker make no mistake of that. If we let Walker go then we really have gone bannanas. I don't think that will happen now that Pratt is around. The beauty of it all is that he is still young and still have plenty of time to work on any defiencies but if he finds poise quick he will be Judd like!
