Crap...all the clubs were "warned" to not trade with us as pick "1 and 2" may be lost...as it turned out the Barnaby trade was left alone even though we lost the second round pick (uptraded)....

YES we wanted the picks BUT we couldn't have given them away.

Clubs wanted an assurance for any trades from the AFL and the AFL wouldn't do it,
If you were a club would you have traded with Carlton?

Carrow talking on sports tonight (3aw). She was talking to Collo about LA and the dome and stuff, and i though i thought heard her say to Collo that the Blues were in for some good news from the AFL in regards to us getting a piority pick. the conversation then moved on to something else. Does anyone know anything else? Am i hearing what i want to hear instead of what was realy said? :?:

Yeh, I heard that as well and she did qualify it by saying 'I'm not suggesting that they won't win less than six matches either' Not sure what she was on about.

Could it be that old story of the Crows seeking compensation for a 'troubled' draft pick? Maybe we're on the ride? While we're at it, we should invent some criminal charges for Gallagher, Eccles, Peter Green, athorn, Powell and Lindsay Smith...

I can't see them giving us back our priority pick, AD wouldn't do that. Does anyone think it could be related to the comment above (Clearly not given no one replied) But the Crows have send in a number of submissions to the AFL for the failure of their L/Angwin pick, and are trying to use the logic that he was a troubled soul (or more technical wording) and they have suffered from making the selection. There was a n article in the Adelaide Advertiser over summer. I can only think that this is gaining some momentum? Perhaps we will benefit as well.

Hope I'm wrong, for this would be a dangerous precedent. Dealers mistake.

I reckon, that would be a nightmare if any compensation for that was granted. Well, unless the Cows could put forward a case that they picked LA on the advice, or recommendation, of the AFL.

It would never happen, surely. It would be plainly wrong.

Adelaide's a small town and they haven't go much else to talk about between occassional shallow grave and barrell mysteries.

If it is done - and why would it be - then Richmond would be well within their rights to have a whinge about trading away pick 4 which became pick 2. I bet they wouldn't have done it had they known they could get Wells. It would set a very ugly precedent.

Is it too late to apply that logic to Murray Vance?
