What an absolute shame! Stevens was going to have a stellar year ... actually I might add @#$%&!!

But look at the positives .. bring up a new kid. We will get thrashed around the stoppages now.

A stronger and hungry Stevens is already something to look forward to for 2008. In the meantime- we learn as a team what it takes as individuals to step up and cover for our best by becoming the best.

All the best with your recovery Stevo, (and thanks for that goal in the last quarter on Saturday against the Bombers...I almost did myself an injury after you nailed that one by jumping up arms raised and very nearly putting my fist through the ceiling fan).

Who will now step up and wear the mantle of maturity?

At least we now have some contenders.....perhaps not quite ready yet; but responsibility can have a very positive effect on young players.

I'm trying to be upbeat; but not succeeding very well.

All the best for the Op Stevo. Get well soon.

Thanks for your pre-season and the first 3 games where you really set the scene and showed some great leadership to the kids.

Hope to see you back around the club ASAP.

Regards Cazzesman

I don't know if this link will work, but he's going to have bone grafted onto the prolapsed disc in his neck and the prolapse might become bigger.

It's strange seeing Greg Swan sitting next to him after he wanted to move to the Pies.

Stevens philosophical about injury
http://carltonfc.com.au/Season2007/News ... wsId=41627
[quote]...The recent career-ending neck injury of rugby league star Andrew Johns had crossed Stevens’ mind.

“Obviously you think about it a little bit and it puts it into perspective a bit You know where footy is, and if your health’s at risk, it is only a game. But I was never in danger of never playing again.â€

Unfortunate for Stevens. Wishing him well with a full recovery regardless if he plays again or not.

This is a huge opportunity for the club, and one of our young players. (Fevs just named Blackwell as a choice replacement on the footy show)

Might rob us of a few wins, yet let us snag a player we may have just missed.

We still wont finish last...

Opinion.

I wouldn't imagine Asaike will be played just yet. I think he's only played a few Bullant Seniors games so it may be a little soon.

Asaik will not play senior footy this year.

Not a fact, just common sense.

Which is a small concern with two years already behind him.

Sorry, what was that, Mr Doom and Gloom Merchant?! Oh what, just a bit more negativity? That's ok, I'll ignore accordingly. I know you already don't like the fella, as evidenced in the TalkingPlayers forum, Aisake will *hopefully* be a gun... but hang - an international player spending 2 *yes two!* years in the VFL?! Better send him back to Ireland now... the boy has no chance. Isn't that right Andain?! :?

Project player? Just mere words. :P
