Maybe they are making a big deal out of member no 30,000 to celebrate the occasion - maybe even a voxpop with them on Saturday to make a big deal out of it?

I would if I were them :)

I'm starting to worry that if we don't perform well this week then we won't hit our target.

I told you all, that disgusting performance against Geelong has undone all the hard work we did over summer, we are back to square one, and it starts this week against the Bombers. Win, and we get some respect back, lose and I doubt we will hit 32,000 - a shame

sad but true.
the concensus among a lot of the supporters (not the hardcore lot on here) is that the team really is still very bad and Denis Pagan is still there.

this might sound a bit off the mark, but i reckon it worked against us that we won the nab cup in '05 and beat melbourne in round 1 in '06 because these "non-hardcore" supporters knew that we got the spoon when we won the nab cup and then got the spoon when we won round 1, so now even though we've done both these things, supporters we're just waiting to see if we'd fall apart again or if we'd keep te good form going. this might only include 500 people but we could have done with them, just my 2 cents.

Agreed... another hammering this week (and we're boun to cop a smashing against the WCE next week) and the membership tally will slow down to a mere trickle..

I am pretty sure that at the presidents lunch today that Pratt stated that we have hit 30K members and that the aim now is our record of 34,500 members.

Blues crack 30,000 members

and that record was 33,500 but if we keep playing like we did today i don't think 34,500 is unrealistic.

Excellent result, thus far - the rate is slowing down as expected, but 500 a week until round 11 will get us the record, just

Thanks for the update Mark

Cheers for that Mark. Quick question, given we've publically said we budgeted on 27,000 members, what sort of a bottom line difference will these "extra" memberships do for us?

The budgeted figure as set by the previous board in October 2006 was 27,500 members. The net yield from each member depends on the category purchased - gold, social gold, silver etc it is safe to assume each member provides the Club an absolute minimum of $100 net.

Forget old budgets. Spread the word, we want to break 34,000 and create a new club record.

Oh I agree completely about doing whatever possible to get new members, just nice to know that we're exceeding expectations.

As we should be. ;)
