So TCers, how's your Monday morning back at work been?

Any stories of Ess supporters in melt down you'd like to share? Did anyone's scum supporting workmates ring in sick?

I must say apart from deciding to wear the Carlton cap on the train & a moment of backslapping with some guys from another department, I have been most subdued. Which is weird considering I have the most assholic Essendon* supporter in my team, who really gave it to me after they beat us by 99 points in 05! But since then I have chosen to just be disgustingly quiet & dignified on the Mondays after we've beaten them - they actually haven't topped us since that day. Karma!!

You must give it to him all guns blazing CK. It will eat you up from the inside if you don't. This is one for the ages and you know that these scum supporters would never be sympathetic if the shoe was on the other foot.
At least send trumpet some da-da-da-da-da every time you pass his desk today.
"Da-da-da-da-da" - is a powerful weapon in the office - It is kryptonite to the Scum. It can be used to win any football arguement.

eg Scum supporter - " Umpiring was shocking ll day - we would have won if that in the back was paid aginst Scotland"
Blues supporter " da-da-da-da-da"

or

Scum Supporter - "Ypu're only as good as your last spoon - Hirdy has a bigger one then Fev, The bombers will finish Top 4 etc etc
Blues Supporter " da-da-da-da-da"

Its a winner every time

My day started by overhearing two gloating WCE supporters talking about this weeks game as being as good as a "bye" - apparently Carlton have no chance at all and WC's will undoubtedly have a 4-0 start to the season.

A win over West Coast would be for Perth based Carlton supporters equivalent to what the Essendon* win was for Melbourne based supporters

I'm finding the phrase "48 points" followed by some laughter to be equally as effective.

Saturday night was a card night at a friends house who just happened to be a Scum supporter.

I have the Carlton theme song on my phone and at regular intervals throughout the night I would just play the "da-da-da-da-daa" part.

The response was several expletives every single time. :-D :-D

The whole weekend has been heaven and this morning has been just as sweet.

I have just been smiling at the scum supporters, which infuriates them no end.

Say nothing and just smile - it kills them everytime becuase it denotes an almost pity that you have towards the teamand their supporters that let a 48pt lead go.

Ever since the siren went i have been waiting to get back to school to rub it into the scum fans, i had even organised what Carlton items i was going to take and where!

Then this morning i forgot to set my alarm and didn't get up in time to get the bus. I now have to wait until Wednesday because i'm gonna work with my old man tomorrow.

oh how sweet it is - playing the song , chanting 48 points , waving the guernsey around the office - HILARIOUS - and all the bombers supporters owe me a lotto ticket - so hopefully thats me outta here with a win and they can stay here and suffer !!

oh yeah here in perth its all talk of an easy eagles win - i think they will be suprised - none of them have any idea about our side - no idea at all.

Well I am now officially the football oracle at work. On Friday afternoon after deciding pessimism wasn't working, I told the five Essendon* supporters in the office that we were dead set certainties to win. They laughed - they are not laughing now. :)

The only other AFL fan in the office who is a Brisbane supporter, the first thing she said was "Wasn't the Carlton Essendon* game great!".

Couldn't argue. :-D

One of my Essendon* supporting staff callined in sick today - after telling me she'd be ringing me on Saturday to come and sit with me in the social club. Oh and that didn't happen either.

The other staff member is very quiet, I was greeted this morning with "I don't want to talk about it".

And the other one is on leave until tomorrow - this will be the sweetest one of all.

And I got 8 winners this week - it's all happening!!!

No real passionate Essendon* supporters at my workplace, only ones that decide to hop on and off the bandwagon at regular intervals. However, my story starts way back on the weekend.

Best thing after a win is to just celebrate with people you don't even know, on my way out of the MCG and back into the CBD via Birrarung Marr I was high-fiving a few people and lapping up the atmosphere.

A lady asked me in Crown (on my way to the car park) who won the game... I mentioned that Carlton won by 3 pts and we were 48 pts down in the second quarter - she seemed happy! Also credit to all the fans, I haven't seen scenes of celebration at the MCG like that for quite some time...

Saturday night I attended a "bon voyage" party for an old friend of mine (Duncan) who supports Essendon*. Another friend of mine (Colin) attended the game and I caught up with him at half-time - he was also quietly confident the Bombers would win the game... hahahaha!!!

Duncan doesn't really seem to care about the football that much, but Colin does - he was a shattered man when he arrived later that night. Naturally I wore my Carlton jacket and did not stop smiling all night. I even whistled the Carlton tune a few times as I walked past him through the night to talk to other people.

I've SMS'd a few Bomber supporter the details of where to buy the DVD of the game if they are interested in reliving the event.

No replies forth coming

Regards Cazzesman
