Love it.

The Age: Blues clinch a modern classic

Rohan Connolly wrote:
Carlton has dined out on its 1999 preliminary triumph over the Bombers for nearly a decade. Now there's a new chapter in the continuing "thumb the nose at Essendon*" tale. Because while this didn't have the same stakes attached, it was every bit as unlikely.

Cue siren. A deafening roar. Grand final-like scenes, Essendon* bodies slumped on the turf, Carlton's jumping for joy. The Blues will toast this one for ages. As they have every right.

The VERY BEST part of The Age story was Rohan Connolly having to write it, who is more one eyed Essendon* than Mark Robinson or Fatprick Smith.

Although he still can't help slipping in a patronising line...

This is the last line of the article...

"The Blues will toast this one for ages. As they have every right."

Why thanks Rohan for telling us we have every right to get excited.

And where is the ...''Essendon* have proven bigger chokers than Greg Norman ever was."

In fact i don't think I've read one line anywhere today about Essendon* choking.

Imagine if the roles were reversed and Carlton had lost after being 48 points up. Imagine the pasting we would have got in the media.

Are they as big a bunch of chokers as the South Efrican cricket team? Is that even possible?
