I thought this was a thread started by Kieron Nicholls, Michael Vozzo and Damien Sully.

Well i wont appologise, because i (along with quite a few other disgruntled supporters out there) have had every right to demand a better performance from our coaching staff.

But i will congratulate them on a brilliant effort yesterday and to be totally honest, i cannot remember ever seeing a better match-day performance from a coach of Carlton (in my time anyway).

Dennis far to often makes negative moves that not only baffl us supporters but also the media but everything Denis did yesterday turned to gold.

His move of Walker to the forward line was fantastic and whatever he said to Lance worked a treat. Not only that, a fair bit of credit for Fev's 8 goals yesterday MUST be given to Pagan for constantly reasuring Fev & keeping him positive.

I was really upset about our forward line yesterday in the 1st quater and usually that would continue throughout the entire match. However it was immediatley rectified after the qtr break.

I also loved Pagan's move of Whitnall into the ruck around the grounds. A bit risky but i don't give a shit...............i want him to take risks like that.

It was just all about the attack yesterday. No giving up or flooding to high hell to just 'ease' the pain on the scoreboard.............just go out with all guns blazing!

Even if we had lost yesterday i would still be commending him for his performance.

So again, whilst i wont appoplogise for criticising Pagan in the past i congratulate him for his belief of this team yesterday.

Again..............BEST COACHING PERFORMANCE BY A CARLTON COACH IN MY RECENT MEMORY!

I concur with this sentiment - the boys were lifeless , without passion , spirit or heart against geelong - it was an insipid display from the boys and the coacing staff - the coaching and tactics were very unimaginative - a spray was warranted - and i gave one - i still supported the team i watched the game i cheered when we did something good and i praised individual moments of brilliance.

Its like a parent yelling/disciplining a child - doesnt mean you dont support them or like them anymore, its because you care.

We're a bit precious around here at times

This week credit where credit is due - great fightback from all concerned and we (after a game and a half off ) showed the fight , determination and spirit to get over the line.

Job well done

GO BLUES !

I doubt, based on their intelligence displayed yesterday, that they'd be literate enough to post

Those Carlton players were like 10 year old kids who had to have their parents scream in their ears or threaten them with detentions if they dont get the homework done!

Our players were so mentally Switched off during the first half.. i have never seen them so soft and so Not interested in running, chasing or doing anything.....It took a lecture of screams from Pagan to wake them all up......

Some of our younger players need to learn more about commitment and responsibility... We know they have got the talent, fitness and ability to make a huge contribution but sometimes their inexperience makes them ilusional about where they are, and they can quickly get Blown away like all teams have done to us in the first three Rounds....

Our pattern of play is something that needs to be addressed, but then again, its a direct result of having a Young team.....No pattern nor consistancy......Well done to the guys though.... they Certainly showed something different from last year.....

The ability to come back from 27 & 44 points this year is a Bonus....but lets not get ahead of ourseleves, we are yet to prove a point when we come against a top quality side.....

Not alot is being said about Carlos on Lloyd and both Lloyd and Lucas had the same amount of shots yet Lloyd kicked more goals.

Lloyd kicked his goals from a full four quarters of footy. And most of those were from soft frees; missed frees that the umps should have paid against him, but didn't; and handball recieves.

Lucas was so ineffective once T-Bird was moved on to him, he spent a lot of the game on the pine. Lucas would have been far more damaging if he had kicked straight, and we hadn't eventually got the right matchup on him.

I agree Lloyd got lucky with a few of his goals and umps looking after him.
I think Lucas got lucky with 1 of the goals on Lance when put his hands in Lance's back and didn't get done for it.
And what about the reason Lance was moved to Lucas in the 1st place? Waite couldn't get near Lucas. Lucas did ALOT more damage on Waite than he did on Lance!!!

A few? Lloyd only "earned" one of his goals, the rest were soft.

Fixed it for you.

True, but Lucas played on Waite alot more than he did on Lance.

I think if Lance had have been on Lucas as much as Waite was, Lucas would have damaged us even more.

True, a change did need to be made. I just think that it was the wrong change.

T-Bird should have been moved on to Lucas before Lance was.

I'm not having a go at Lance, I just think that it was a bad move to put Lance (who was badly out of form at the time) on the the form forward in the comp.

But it was the only bad tactical move of the day, and it didn't last long; so as long as the coaching staff have learnt from it, it's all good.

I would also like to apologoize.

Due to not completing a full preseason...I wasnt ready to play the first round of the SAAFL minor round for Adelaide Uni...and hence umpired a game.

There is no doubt that my perforamnce as an umpire was far more professional than that of the aFL equivelant.

This apology has three elements to it.

1. That I umpired at all

2. That I didnt umpire the MCG game

3. That I was listening to the game on my mobile whilst umpiring in the last quarter. This was particularly difiicult due to the game that I was actually umpiring was boring and I tended to put more emphasis on the Blues game.

Therefore I am sorry to all carlton supporters and the players who I was meant to be umpiring.

Regrets....
