To all supporters, support staff, officials, coaching staff and players of the Carlton Football Club.

I would like to apologise for my off field behaviour yesterday, Saturday the 14th of April.

Due to circumstances beyond my control i was unable to attend the game so i listened to the coverage on MMM.

I must apologise for my actions from this point on.

In particular:
I apologise to one H.Scotland, for branding him unaccountable.
I apologise to one S. O'hAilpin for saying he couldnt play on big name forwards like M.Lloyd.
I apologise to D.Pagan for saying he never tries anything different.

but most of all i apologise to the football club as a whole for writing them off and at 1/4 time turning off the radio. I checked the score with about 5 minutes to go in the second and decided we'd held our own so i would watch the delayed 2nd half on TEN.

I HAD written us off, i HAD put us in the same basket as last year, but yesterday showed something that the Carlton Football Club has been lacking since 2000. Yesterday showed courage. Yesterday showed heart. Yesterday showed pride. and yesterday showed determination from a young group of guys that stood up and said "NO @#$%&! WAY, WE'RE NOT GOING DOWN TO THESE BASTARDS LIKE THIS."

So, from the bottom of my heart, i apologise, and i promise it will not happen again.

Probably what you ate was prepared in 99.
The Bummer fans were just as shattered. Leaving the ground, one young Bummer screamed "SHEEDY, ...WHAT THE FLOWER"

The other thing I heard was "can you believe that, that was the worst umpires decision of all time, how did he not pay too high?" Yeah right dickbrain, 5-6 goals from frees, Hird getting frees for just being there, no Carlton player had a neck or back according to the umpires, and the Bummer fans were upset

Well done for having the guts to own up bnz.

However one thing I can't stomach is "supporters" leaving the game early, or turning off the TV/radio.

The players, coaches, etc can't leave early when they are having a bad day, so neither should the supporters.

Be there to support the team through thick and thin!

As I always say, watching the bad times makes the good times all the sweeter.

Well i wont appologise, because i (along with quite a few other disgruntled supporters out there) have had every right to demand a better performance from our coaching staff.

But i will congratulate them on a brilliant effort yesterday and to be totally honest, i cannot remember ever seeing a better match-day performance from a coach of Carlton (in my time anyway).

Dennis far to often makes negative moves that not only baffl us supporters but also the media but everything Denis did yesterday turned to gold.

His move of Walker to the forward line was fantastic and whatever he said to Lance worked a treat. Not only that, a fair bit of credit for Fev's 8 goals yesterday MUST be given to Pagan for constantly reasuring Fev & keeping him positive.

I was really upset about our forward line yesterday in the 1st quater and usually that would continue throughout the entire match. However it was immediatley rectified after the qtr break.

I also loved Pagan's move of Whitnall into the ruck around the grounds. A bit risky but i don't give a shit...............i want him to take risks like that.

It was just all about the attack yesterday. No giving up or flooding to high hell to just 'ease' the pain on the scoreboard.............just go out with all guns blazing!

Even if we had lost yesterday i would still be commending him for his performance.

So again, whilst i wont appoplogise for criticising Pagan in the past i congratulate him for his belief of this team yesterday.

Again..............BEST COACHING PERFORMANCE BY A CARLTON COACH IN MY RECENT MEMORY!

I'd like to apologise to my neighbours, who had to endure a 20 minute stream of obscenities during the last quarter.

Except Whitnall on to Lucas, that one was bizare.

The game started to blow out after that move, and it could have cost us the game.

But fortunatly it didn't last too long.

All the other moves worked well; and Denis, assistants, whoever came up with them should be congratulated.

I want to apologize to all here and to the club as well.
i did the disappearing act at half time.
Not because the blues were playing badly, i can sit through that.
The umpiring was so badly one sided, that i was in danger of jumping the fence and slamming a blue flag through an ump's eye socket so that they could see something blue.
From now on i am taking my own food to the games.
I want to support my blues, but no more money to the AFL from me.

Vozzo you are going to be hearing from me at every game your in you cheating scum.

The move of Lance to Lucas was aleast something that had to be tried.

Last year when we played the bombers Lance smashed Lucas so it was atleast worth a shot. So, it didn't work and the problem was fixed.
If it had of worked Lacne is then a hero and is out of his slump.

Not alot is being said about Carlos on Lloyd and both Lloyd and Lucas had the same amount of shots yet Lloyd kicked more goals.

Lucablue and Daniellle were ready to the same. Sitting through that shit umpiring 2 weeks in a row is bloody hard to sit through.

Police in the Carlton Social Club area spent some time calming some fans down.

I must admit that I thought about posting on here at half time.

I was just disconsolate. To be shown up by a team that we should at least be able to get close to was almost the final straw. I looked at their kids, and they were playing with passion and verve. I looked at their older players, and they too were playing with passion and verve. I looked at our guys, and they seemed timid and scared to be themselves. I looked at their list and I saw Slattery, Laycock, Michael, Winderlich, Dyson, Stanton, Jetta, and Davey. I looked at our list and I saw Murphy, Gibbs, JR, AB, 1AW, Waite, Betts, and Fish. I just didn't see how the Bummers could be so much better than our guys.

To turn it all around was beautiful. I've been a definite Pagan critic - but he did something yesterday that I don't think he has done at Carlton before. He tried to be proactive with his match-ups. When all looked really lost, he started throwing the team around, and just searching for something, anything.... and he found it. Even if it hadn't have come off I would have admired him for at least presenting us with something positive. But to take the game out... well I doff my lid to him.

ahhhhh yes....

well, i was disiplined enough to wait to watch the game delayed rather than listen to it. because i dont have foxtel i like to use every fta opportunity i can get....so i waited.
and by god i was the happiest man alive that i was controlled enough to not go and check the scores and spoil it. that last 5 minutes was so flower intense...and watching it on the box made it so much more worth it...

Lloyd kicked his goals from a full four quarters of footy. And most of those were from soft frees; missed frees that the umps should have paid against him, but didn't; and handball recieves.

Lucas was so ineffective once T-Bird was moved on to him, he spent a lot of the game on the pine. Lucas would have been far more damaging if he had kicked straight, and we hadn't eventually got the right matchup on him.

Agreed i went out to have a smoke at halftime well maybe 2 or 3 was fuming and wanted to find a brick and hurl it at Vozzo prick....

The game was fantastic pity the umps left a sour taste in my mouth well Vozzo i mean.

I even suggested to a scum mate of mine maybe the Blues should have a red sash to get noticed by the Umps after halftime

Its amazing just how much influence they can have on a game of footy, that first half blowing their whistle all the time made for disgraceful footy by both teams. Bombers may have been 8goals up but 6 of those were from direct free kicks. then in the second half i must say the Umpires did very well by letting the game go and allowing for some tough contests without giving soft free kicks. The only 2nd half shocker was when Lance was called for Shepherding in the ruck when Laycock jumped on his back, apart from that they let the game go, and a phenomenal contest eventuated. Sure as Carlton supportsers we think that it was great in the 2nd half, but regardless of scoreline the game re-kindled my faith in the game after watching 4years of Richmond, Hawthorn, and Essendon* play a style of footy which makes me want to turn the TV off/ leave the game.

I went down to get food at quarter time and the was a carlton supporter, more than likely a member, who threw their hat on the ground and walked past the guys offering passouts and said something to the effect of "I don't need one of them I'm not coming back" all I can say is after 5 years of pain that one quarter was worth sitting through to see one the best games i have witnessed
