Sorry I picked the wrong thread about John Nicholls I should have put it in here instead.

I don't know or care who you are but that is blasphemy in ANY thread. I have encountered the man twice in my life and he was friendly and humble on both occasions. If he was a tool, it was a bulldozer. In Carlton's dark years pre 68 he WAS Carlton. Afterwards, he was the colossus on which we built 3 premierships.
I'm going to nominate you for the biggest tool for that remark.
Go and barrack for Collingwood.

Whilst he had his problems, Big Nick is a genuine guy, quiet type and reserved, but no way a tool. Just off Carlton for a moment, I have a Saints mad mate who idolised Ian Stewart until he met him in a business/regulatory context - absolute tool according to my mate

Agree with those who liked Prender - he was always friendly.

The biggest tool I have encountered is still on our list so I won't mention him.

But I have to also add Jason Smith to the list. I used to talk to him a bit when he was at Carlton so when I ran into him a few years later at a pub he remembered me. He took me over to his group of mates & asked me, in front of them where I remembered him from. Aware that he was hinting that I tell them he used to play for Carlton I thought I'd have a bit of fun & say that we hooked up one night & I must say, he was a very bad root!

Without a doubt it would have to be Luke O'Sullivan.

In 1995, i went to the Carlton v Bulldogs game at the G (the day Sticks kicked 10) and got there early to see the reserves play. After going in and out of the ground a few times leading to the opening bounce, i kept meeting the Carlton senior players rocking up for the games play. I was with my mate who is a very big and rough fellas and we were firing up the boys as they walked past. Peter Dean and Ang Christou stood out as great blokes but the biggest clown was Luk O'Sullivan. As he walked past, i yelled out "Go get 'em Rhino" and i was amazed when i heard his response "go @#$%&! yourself WOG!!!"

Considering Carlton has such a multicultural following and some all time greats from muxed backgrounds, i was horrofied with his efforts. He was lucky my mate didnt punch him up there and then. Oh well, needless to say. i went off fim from that point on and was the first to celebrate when he did his knee at Waverley a year or so afterwards.

O'Sullivan did his knee at Waverley well before '95...

Admittedly, he had a multitude of injuries afterwards anyway.....so could definitely be a whole host of others.

Pre-season 1993 was the first major knee injury for Rhino.

Robbed us of what would have been a fantastic burst player. Never recovered the speed he had, which, along with a devastating left foot, was his major asset.

Please don't defend Big Nick, he is a perfect example of a great footballer not making a great person. He is rude, arrogant and is only friendly to people if there is something in it for him. A very good friend of mine deals with him on a weekly basis - the guy is an arsehole.
