Sorry GOLTZ my friend. But if you cant understand the concept of sarcasm you should stay away from this web-site. Read my first most again, and then again, and then again, and then digest it and then you may understand that the topinc is in fact a praise of LANCE!

Poor Goltzy is drunk is drunk after a big win

I was there at the game - depressed about the first half - about to thrown myself off the balcony. And then what a turn around. The best Team effort this decade.

Lance was still ordinary in the first half but his second half was such a turn-around for him personally as a player. He didn't have an incredible game but he looked like a different man. Watch the replay and see you'll see he was more successful in the ruck than our actual ruckmen.

Heath Scotland praised him on Before the Game commenting that Lance is a true leader of the team and makes so much more of a contribution as a leader than what anyone othert than the players can see.

Go Lance, you'll be back soon.

Sir Goltz to you cheif:)

Well its a bit hard to read that as sarcasm when he got benched for the whole 2nd quarter and part of the 4th quarter. He only got 10 possessions and 4 marks, 6 hitouts, 1 tackle but played a big role in the 3rd quarter. Not like he was in carltons best players

Sorry i misread your sarcasm but wait for all the negative responses to put him in the bullants still

Gotta give Lance a break he was up at 3am throwing eggs at his bros car

lol

Unfortunately some "supporters" can't help themselves...they fall for the trap of being sucked into all the negative hysteria that so easily circulates this site and the media, instead of showing the character that is Carlton and that is pride, loyalty, passion...

The team stuck it up many today and proved its knockers wrong...

Well done today Blues...i for one am enjoying the journey!...

:-D :-D :-D

Hang on a minute, fair go on Goltz BJ, he was demonstrating exactly what you're yearning for, albeit misdirected.

Good to see some fire in the belly from all parties.

I love the navy blues and wasnt sucked into the negative stuff last week.

Need to support the club when they are down. Well done Pagan for making no changes showed faith in the team.

Yeah... youre right..!!!... after not being able to play the game for a half.. he found his position... Lance is our third string ruckman!!glad we found a possie for Lance....

We won that game on the backs of Fevola and the kids...

Lance had no real influence on that win....

I agree with you for once Synbad. Fev, Scotland, Murph, Walker and several others won it for us. But i also feel that Lance has stepped up a notch from the past few weeks. If he was to play the way he did today for the rest of the season, i would be really disapointed. However if he keeps stepping up over the next few weeks he will be in Lance best form again. If.....

I disagree with you that he was a token player when he came back on in the 3rd. I think he was very effective as a loose man. He created opportunities for us and directed the team well.

Fev and "the kids" won us the game, right?

So who are "the kids"????

Those under 20?, under 23? under 25?

The magical "kids" who have never been defined.

Typical nonsensical statement by a short-sighted entity with little idea of how a team works.

WATCH THE GAME FFS INSTEAD OF RABBITING ON AND ON AND ON ABOUT NOTHING!

Good call Verbs.

I actually feel a bit silly about my reply to Synbad. It was the team that won the game for us, not just few blokes. The whole side including our COACH brought us back from another anihilation. Fev played a massive part. But i cant think of any single player who didn't contribute to the biggest comeback in carlton's history. And that includes LANCE.

Thought Pagan coached better today and it helped after half time with Whitnalls form....playing on the ball with Ackland drifting forward after the main ruck duels gave Lance the opportunity to play the old fashioned follower role and it got him into the game.
I dont think he won us the game or was a catalyst but it gave him some intensity seeing the other players lifting and he became a contributor rather than being a liability.

West Coast and Dean Cox will be a new challenge and I dont see that move working and Lance might be looking for another role...

Love the post Bearzo. Synbad is incapable of a positive response for Lance so just ignore him. Lance did not play a great game, but like you said he worked his way back into the game and was a solid contributor in the second half. That's all we ask of him as he works his way back into form. And when he hits that form, he will be a match winner again.

I know this is a Lance post, but the other guy that copped a helluva lot this week was Lappin. Too many short sighted, negative supporters (Synbad culprit again) were calling for his head. Lappin was extremely important today. He got us started in the second with his class. Didnt have a heap of possessions but when things weren't going well he came into the game strongly with 3 key goals at a time when things weren't going our way (especially with the shitty umpirng). Lappin proved to me that he still has plenty to offer this year so lets not write him off so quickly. He is a young 30 year old in my opinion. He has never had any significant injuries and his body is capable of playing many more great games. He is a class above alot of the other players we have - his use of the ball and decision making is usually sensational.

How am i negative???
In fact im positive.
We won a great game of football.. but its not because of Lance.. its because of alot of other people but not Lance...
Lance isnt setting the tone... Fevola Stevens Lappin and Scotland are ably supported by a bunch of kids.
I think its fantastic...
why is it fantastic??.. because Lance wont be in the side next year because we can manage without him!!.. and the others are solid and the kids are playing good football and developing...

and because there is no room for a 3rd string loose man that you have to try and find a niche position for in each game for him to even play an average half coupled with a shocking half of football..

Those days are over.. and for us almost over...!!

I thought Pagan coached ok today.
Liked the move of Lance into the action in the third - he got some important touches.
Liked Stevens to a flank and also Lappin up forward - I reckon this is his spot.

Didn't like Andrew Walker having to stand Jetta defensively at one stage. That's a waste of huge talent.

Didn't like Lance on lucas - what was he thinking?

Liked Cloke and Ackland throwing everything they had at it in the last. Esp Cloke. Didn't get many touches but couldn't fault his endeavour.

Make up your mind Synbad. Earlier in the week you were calling for Lappin's dumping. Now you're saying he's a leader. Which one is it??? Clearly can't see the bigger picture. Which is that Lappin is all class and we need him in the team.
