Until we realize that we have more than one player capable of kicking a goal in the forwardline we might as well go with Fev and five crumbers.

The amount of times I heard on the weekend that players had led into space only for the pill to be kicked to a double and triple teamed fevola was amazing.

Also smaller forwards might chase backmen down the ground. Scarlett et al's attack on the footy gave Geelong a 9 man forward line.

..there's alot of options up forward if we wanna think outside the square a little.. ..and without even bringing in any new players..

..you'd pretty much keep the fev as FF and mister kennedy at CHF and give them that job.. ..i'd keep bettsy within 3m of fev whenever the ball's delivered to him and he's not leading.. ..and he's pressure is great.. ..i'd isolate essendons backman that's there creative rebound player and play carazzo on him in a negating way, and also push forward since he's a good mark.. ..also good in close.. ..others are obviously fisher for his good overhead marks, and as of late roving ability.. ..and walker of a half-forward flank would really give the forwardline some bite.. ..just let him rip, yer can always send him down back after halftime if needed.. ..only play the big red up forward, and keep him around the goal-square..make him contest..and play him there, but from off the bench as a substitue impact type player.. ..mids can rotate thru the half forward flanks..murphu, stevens, and simmo.. ..and both lappin and houla's used to be damaging up forward..

..if we stay predictable, we'll get done..

Wouldn't mind seeing Fevola, Betts and Lappin only in the f50 with Kennedy playing a big arc on the 50. Give the haircut some space and some crumbers.

We have a CHF, just have to get used to looking for him and kicking it to him.

From training on Wend it looks like Fev will play at CHF and Waite or Kennedy will get a crack at FF.

I'd like that....................hell, at least we're giving something a go!

But i'm not happy with whitnall going down back. I think we'll be in trouble with that one. Especially if he's on Lucas.

Good luck to Lance, i hope he pulls through!

there's no doubt kennedy will feature in the future carlton forward line, and im excited about that.

but is it in the best interests of the kid to be playing afl know, and playing off fevola and fisher etc...

i think let him play in the bullants as the no. 1 forward where he can learn all the tricks of the trade as a key man. i just dont think he is ready, but maybe thats just me.

intersted in your thoughts...

yep i'd like to see him get a gig in the 2's for a week or two for the reasons you mentioned above and to give him a bit of extra confidence.

Agreed, whilst we don't really actively seem to look for him when going forward he can't really get himself into games. Let him go back to the VFL for a few weeks and find some touch, take some marks and kick some goals because there really is no point in him playing at the moment.

big josh is definitely not ready yet.
whether he makes it it's up to him.
the only issue in his favour is that we play west coast in w.a
and he is a w.a boy.
one more chance for josh.

Josh will make it, i have no doubt (whoch means he will make it)
But pretty soon he needs a gig in the VFL to allow him to get a feel for it.
I think Harts should come in pretty soon.

I also thought Fev was much better off when Lance was shifted away and he had room to destroy a couple of players that are past it...

Id also drop Lance for Joey or Bower...

The guy has no position he can play .....

you know what will happen?
hartlett is going to come in and get consistent 10-15 possies with 1-2 goals per match.
josh will need to play very well in the bullants to replace hartlett.
this is my guess.
and this is a good thing too.
hartlett can play in defence as well, but we do need a chf.
especially against the weagles..hunter & glass are class.
i hope whitnall has turned it around, his vision to spot players with neat short kicks hitting players on the chest and commanding traffic is critical for this team atm.

Great game from Fev but it would have been better to see those goals shared amongst a few players and Josh being part of the system that created them...
I really like his second efforts but he struggles at ground level when he doesnt mark the ball and maybe needs some time in the twos to develop that part of his game.
Thought Fisher worked up the ground more today and gave Fev some more space which worked better.
