Actually............................I don't hate Essendon* (*Ducks Head*)

Here's why:-

The Bombers are a proud club with over 100 years of wonderfull history that are still training from it's original home "Suburban" ground and have won 16 Premierships.................................Sound Familiar? Sounds like us doesn't it?

So why do i hate Collingwood? Well, for one reason, Carlton and Essendon* will ALWAYS fire up for a big game...........the Pies will just choke it and then look for a box of tissues afterwards! :( Plus i was most upset when they left Victoria Park for the Lexus Centre. Don't get me wrong i hated the place, but it was tradition, it was historic & it was part of THE/OUR game if we liked it or not! The fact that they would move away from it is disgracefull. It's like your pissing on your history!

Essendon* & Carlton would NEVER leave thier home because it's just too respected.

Carlton & Essendon* both have such a wonderfull sporting history that they are right up there with the Yankees & Red Sox's............the Manchester United's & the Liverpool's and dare i say it, Australia Vs England Ashes.

I Respect Essendon*.

Now let's f**k em up!!!!!! :x

That's a beautiful finish!

Yes Essendon* have won 16 League flags.
Carlton also 16.

But we have also won another 7. (pre VFA and VFA.)

1869, 1871, 1873, 1874, 1875, 1877, 1887.

Total 23 premierships in the Senior Competition of the day.

Essendon* don't come anywhere close to that.

If Geelong want our 1995 flag because of cheating-fair enough.

But we will take the 1993 one from Essendon* for the same reason.
Essendon* would then have one less- 15.

I dare say we'd probably lose the 93 one as well

you forget...

They claim 16 premierships BUT have the only two flags that were NOT won in a grandfinal

1897, 1924
That still counts as a premiership, unfortunately, but we still have 16 GF wins! They have to win another 3 to beat us .. not in my lifetime!!

Reasons to hate Essendon* - apart from all those already mentioned.
The blokes at www.footytalk.com.au have brought up an interesting theory that Essendon* treated basically the whole of 2006 as a HUGE tank that has come under the radar of the footballing fraternity. Well at least since it was obvious they couldn't make the finals. They did enough to ensure they didnt get the spoon by beating Collingwood (easily). And yet they did enough to ensure they got a priority pick as well. Sheedy is trying to build a new dynasty based on rolling over for the majority of 2006. I am prepared to accept this theory as being a good one. The call them "Sheedy's Sherminator's" (after the Sherman Tanks).

That's a great fairy tale but one that won't have a happy ending for the poor bummer supporters.

What part of that theory supports recruiting Campo and Michael?

They have an ageing list and may well have tanked so they could replace with some quality, however, they'll need a lot more than one draft to save them. Their plan almost came undone when we drew with them because one more point would have landed them on the bottom.

Their list has nothing of substance between 22 and 29 apart from a couple of good/average players. They may hang on this year but sooner or later Hird, Lucas, Lloyd, Fletcher, Michael, Johnson etc will be gone and they'll be left with Peverell.

We'll beat 'em this week.
