I can't make this clear enough:

IF CARLTON QUALIFY FOR A PP THE AFL WILL SCRAP THEM THIS YEAR.

You can put your house on that.

There is no point trying to tank in the hope of a PP.

There was talk on K.Bs show this morning that this may indeed happen. The comission apparently is studying various submissions regarding the draft and one of them recommends the immediate scrapping of the priority pick.

Hopefully they will also get teams who have received TWO high draft picks over the past 5 years give them back.
Players such as Franklin, Kossie, Tambling, McClean, etc .... should be put in the 2005 pre-season draft. :P

Why does everyone automatically assume that we will deliberately lose games to end up on the bottom of the ladder? I can't believe that professional sportsman would be able to en masse achieve that.

As it stands today, we will play our hearts out and still end up there.

If that happens, looking forward to picking up one of the best kids in the land will be the only thing to make the season worth while, and give us some excitement going into next season.

Have no problem with that Mrs caz, its not the club's attitude that worries me.Its that this sytem encourages supporters to not want to win. that bothers me.

I wouldn't get too worried Danny.

The Club will never adopt a loser mentality. Pagan seems to hate losing. He is fuming with our performance. The last thing he wants is for us to slide down the ladder.

It's the supporters who adopt this mentality. And they try and projct that onto the players. They are the insecure. The pessimistics. The negative type of people we meet every day of our lives, and notice at the footy, slagging of our own, always coming up with some bullshit about why so and so shouldn't be out there.

Everyone is different and some would prefer to take this path in their support of the club. I am like you, the complete opposite.

And if we instill in our young our love of Carlton, our love of footy and a positive approach to life, the kids won't stay away. They will flock to watch the Blues play. Make trips interstate just to see the Blues. Sign up as junior interstate members when they are 12 years old. Keep scrap books. Cheer, Laugh, Cry. Rejoice. Despair.

But always want the Blues to win. Regardless of the odds. Regardless of our position on the ladder.

I wonder what outsiders browsing this forum would be thinking of Carlton supporters right now.

Can just see Bomberblitz with a thread saying "The losers on Talking Carlton want to see their team lose to get draft picks"

They must be licking their lips to trade for some out & out ex-Carlton champs like Murphy and Allan? Campo for Lovett? A steaming pile of #2's for Henneman?

Once were warriors...

Would you prefer us to win 5 or 6 games verbs?
winning one game can make such a differemce to where this club ends up in the next decade....

We have won two, drawn one and lost five.

I'd prefer us to win 14 more.

Lets make a bet and see who the tippa is!!!
I bet we will win closer to 6 games.. and finish bottom 4 ... than win 14 and make the 8...

$200 to the heart foundation!!!

So howabout putting your money where your mouth is trippa????

Money talks bullshit walks!!!

Make the who is a tripper debate interesting with some testicular fortitude...

Come on!!??

wont be going to me or you but a charity.. so its ok... just do it!!!...
